...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THIS MORNING 
FOR HARRIS, SOUTHERN MERIWETHER, NORTHERN MUSCOGEE, NORTHERN TALBOT, 
SOUTHEASTERN TROUP AND UPSON COUNTIES...

At 514 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
thunderstorms have produced heavy rain across the warned area. 
Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is 
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus, Thomaston, Hamilton, Talbotton, Manchester, Pine 
  Mountain, Woodbury, Waverly Hall, Warm Springs, Woodland, 
  Yatesville, Sunset Village, Lincoln Park, Bibb City, The Rock, 
  Shiloh, Flint Hill, F.d. Roosevelt State Park, Baughville and 
  Durand.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

SOUTHEASTERN TROUP AND UPSON COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended, and the risk of flash flooding is ending. 
Between 4 and 8 inches occurred overnight, with isolated higher 
amounts. Rises in creeks and rivers are still possible. Please 
continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 100 PM EST Friday for portions 
of central Georgia, north central Georgia, northeast Georgia, 
northwest Georgia and west central Georgia.
