Breezy west winds will develop in the afternoon. Elevated fire danger conditions are possible for portions of Otero and Hudspeth counties due to breezy winds and very dry conditions. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday A weather system will pass north of the local area and generate strong westerly winds across the area Sunday afternoon. Wind speeds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph will be possible. Some patchy blowing dust may occur in dust prone area. However dust is not expected to be as widespread as previous events. Fire danger with will be high with Red Flag Critical fire conditions expected for Sunday afternoon. Calmer conditions with lower wind speeds for much of next week.
