...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM CDT FOR SOUTH
CENTRAL WEBB COUNTY...
    
At 710 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near United South High School, or 8 miles southeast of
Laredo, moving north at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
  United South High School around 715 PM CDT.
  St Augustine High School South Laredo and Laredo Community College 
  around 720 PM CDT.
  Texas A&M and Laredo International Airport around 725 PM CDT.
  Laredo, Laredo Country Club, Doctors Hospital Of Laredo, Orvil and 
  Unitec Industrial Park around 730 PM CDT.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 35 between mile markers 1 and 17.
 US Highway 59 between mile markers 818 and 824.
 US Highway 83 between mile markers 718 and 732.

Satellite imagery shows the low pressure area moving west-northwest over
Coahuila to the west of Eagle Pass. Latest MSAS analysis shows strongest
surface moisture flux convergence over Duval County. Convective bands
will continue to develop in this region of low level convergence into
early this evening. Will continue Flash Flood Watch until 00Z but trim
inland Nueces and Kleberg Counties.

Latest hi-res models depict this low level convergence axis will shift
to along and west of the Rio Grande early this evening (after 00Z),
as well as negative 85H theta-e advection. As this occurs, the band
of convection over the Brush Country is expected to diminish with
a new band developing west of the Rio Grande. This activity may clip
the western portions of Webb County into the early overnight period.

The low will be southwest of the Big Bend by 12Z Tuesday as the
mid level ridge builds to the south as the low exits to the northwest.
Air mass will become much drier for Tuesday, but enough moisture will
be in place to possibly see isolated convection over the coastal
plains with the sea breeze during the afternoon. Highs will be below
normal for Tuesday with ground being moist from the past rains. But
with the additional humidity, expect heat index values will range
from 105 to 109 degrees Tuesday afternoon.

With the upper ridge over the region Tuesday night along with the
drier air, low will be mild with some places over the inland
coastal plains falling into the lower 70s.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through next Sunday)

The upper level ridge from northwest Texas to the Texas coast will
hold in place through Wednesday night. Moisture levels will be
below normal through this period with PW values below 1.5 inches.
The upper level ridge will weaken slightly for Thursday as the
broad upper trough covering the Mississippi River valley to the
Atlantic coast builds southward toward the northern Gulf coast.
This will send a frontal boundary into central Texas Thursday
morning that will possibly sag southward into south central Texas
for Friday. Higher moisture will approach the Victoria Crossroads
Thursday afternoon as convection that develops over southeast
Texas moves toward the area. With the boundary nearby along with
higher moisture, scattered convection will be possible Friday over
the northern Coastal Bend to the Victoria Crossroads.

Models are in agreement showing a tropical wave moving into the
Bay of Campeche Thursday morning. This system will move to the
northwest and approach the northeast Mexico/lower Texas coast on
Saturday. This should lead to an increase in moisture over the
area. Should see scattered convection move inland over the weekend
as this tropical wave moves inland by Saturday night.

Current VFR conditions across the region with some MVFR in and
around storms across the Western Brush Country through the evening.
Activity expected to last for a few more hours before diminishing.
Across eastern sites, drier air moves in and expecting VFR
conditions with some fog possible across the Coastal Plains
tomorrow morning. COT/LRD should expect BR possibly some fog and
lower CIG's to result in MVFR with possible IFR conditions from
lingering storms and abundant moistures overnight into tomorrow
morning. Expecting VFR conditions with clearer skies tomorrow
afternoon.

A weak to moderate onshore flow will continue tonight as a low
pressure area over northeast Mexico moves toward the Big Bend of
Texas. A generally weak onshore flow is expected Tuesday through
Wednesday. The onshore flow will be weak during the daytime and
weak to moderate at night for Thursday and Friday. Isolated to
scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday
night into Friday as a weak frontal boundary moves into south
central Texas. A weak tropical wave will move into the western
Gulf of Mexico by Saturday. Moisture associated with this tropical
wave will lead to isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms
Saturday.

Maximum Heat Index values of 105 to 109 degrees can be expected each

Oilton, or 18 miles northwest of Hebbronville, moving north at 25
mph.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
