.SYNOPSIS...
Upper level low and its associated surface trough move across
the region through sunrise. Ridge then builds into the area from
Ontario Wednesday night then persists into early Saturday. A
warm front lifts across the area Saturday night into Sunday as
low pressure reaches the upper Great Lakes.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Surface trough associated with an upper level low over the
central Great Lakes moves eastward through the morning. This
trough likely enhances the rain/snow showers as it crosses the
lake through sunrise. There is then a period of lake enhanced
snow showers that persist over NE OH into NW PA through mid
afternoon. It still appears some light accumulations will occur.
The higher terrain of NW PA has the greatest chance of seeing an
inch or 2. The highest amounts likely near a line from Edinboro
to Wattsburg to Corry.

All of the precipitation should end by the evening. The
afternoon cumulus should dissipate fairly fast across the
western and central CWA this evening along with gradual
clearing across NE OH into NW PA. Light winds and the clearing
skies point to a very cold night. Current thoughts for lows gets
the region near record lows for Apr 28. Definitely looks like a
hard freeze for a large portion of inland Ohio. Headlines will
be needed.

.SHORT TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/...
Upper-level trough will push east of the area Thursday, although
northwesterly flow will persist aloft, leading to continued below-
normal temperatures. The good news is surface high pressure will
begin to build into the area, fostering dry weather Thursday.
Despite the below-normal temps, highs will be several degrees warmer
than Wednesday, with afternoon temps reaching the mid to upper 40s
across NW PA and  NE OH and low to mid 50s inland and across NW
counties. Clear skies are anticipated Thursday night and temps will
likely drop to the upper 20s to lower 30s across inland NW PA/NE OH
thanks to radiational cooling. Other locations, including lakeshore
locations, will be a few degrees warmer with lows in the low to mid
30s. Additional Frost Advisories are likely across NE OH, best
chance south of the lakeshore along and east of I-71. Dry weather
continues through Friday night as upper-level ridge begins to build
in from the west. The building ridge will also provide warming temps
- although temps will be below normal, highs will be
in the 50s, with a few spots in the southernmost zones reaching the
lower 60s. Clouds may increase across the southeastern reaches of
the forecast area Friday night, which will keep highs in the upper
30s - skies should remain clear across NE OH/NW PA so lows will
likely be in the lower 30s. Patchy frost is possible in this area.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
The warming trend continues through the weekend as the ridge
continues to build east. As of now, it looks like that ridge axis
will be centered across the local area Saturday night or early
Sunday. Meanwhile, a vertically-stacked low over the Plains will
lift a warm front northeast towards Lake Erie during the second half
of the weekend and the front should move across the area Sunday
night into Monday. Scattered showers are possible ahead of the front
Saturday evening through Sunday, but the best lift/moisture will lie
closer to the front to the southeast of the forecast area. Still
some uncertainty in the placement, timing, and overall chances of
precip as the warm front lifts across the area and a cold front
follows close behind, so continued broad slight chance to chance
pops through Monday. Guidance diverges even further as another
disturbance possibly skirts across the area on Tuesday, but continue
pops through the remainder of the period.

Temperatures will finally recover to near normal to possibly
slightly above normal values over the weekend. Saturday will feature
highs in the low to mid 60s, but high temps should rise to the upper
60s to lower 70s Saturday through early next week. Expect overnight
lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s for the majority of the period.

.AVIATION /06Z Wednesday THROUGH Sunday/...
VFR conditions are occurring at most TAF sites. The exception
is across NW PA with area of MVFR ceilings off of Lake Erie.
Also some light rain showers. A surface trough crosses the area
with an increase of rain/snow showers possible across NE OH
into NW PA through sunrise. We then transition to some lake
enhanced snow showers with the greatest concentration across NW
PA. Expect MVFR, maybe brief IFR, with the snow showers through
mid afternoon. This region will see clouds decrease this evening
into the overnight.

Elsewhere through the day expect to see the 5000-6000 foot
cloud cover to move east. Only some afternoon cumulus will be
possible through the afternoon then clear this evening into the
overnight.

Winds become northwester this morning in the wake of the
trough. Speeds increase to 15-20 knots with gusts to 25 knots.
Winds become light ad variable around sunset.

Outlook...Non-VFR possible Saturday night into Sunday.

.MARINE...
West to northwest winds will increase to around 15 to 20 knots this
evening through Wednesday. Although wind speeds will be somewhat
marginal, onshore flow will produce waves of 3 to 5 feet. Small
Craft Advisories remain in effect this evening through Wednesday
evening. Winds should gradually decrease Wednesday night as high
pressure begins to build into the area and expect winds and waves to
remain below Small Craft Advisory criteria through at least
Saturday.
