Unsettled weather will prevail through the period with today
being the most active. Deep tropical moisture remains in place
across deep south Texas early this morning. The 0Z Brownsville
sounding indicated PW of 2.17 inches. Models continue to suggest
PWATs of 2.25 to 2.50 inches will continue across the CWA today.
The combination of abundant moisture, the dissipating frontal
boundary to the north and an inverted 500mb trough/ tropical wave
will lead to scattered showers and thunderstorms today. Locally
heavy rainfall, producing nuisance flooding in low-lying and
poorly-draining areas, is possible. Brownsville radar currently
shows some isolated convection across portions of Zapata and Starr
Counties. Rain chances should slowly diminish through late this
evening with the loss of daytime heating. However, sufficient
moisture and a mid level shear axis will support isolated to
scattered convection over the Gulf water tonight into Saturday
morning. Isolated sea breeze showers and thunderstorms are
expected on Saturday.

Otherwise, highs today will generally be in the 90s due to the
increase in rain chances and cloud cover. Lows tonight are expected
to fall into the mid to upper 70s to around 80. Hot and humid
weather is expected on Saturday with highs generally in the mid to
90s to the lower 100s. Heat indices will range from 103 to 109 each
afternoon.

Persistent low pressure in the middle layers of the atmosphere
over the BRO CWFA will combine with daytime heating and deep
tropical moisture to produce mainly scattered showers and
thunderstorms through the period. The mention of heavy rainfall
has been included in the latest Hazardous Weather Outlook, but not
yet in the official forecast. Near normal temperatures are also
anticipated daily due to the constant opportunity for rainfall and
associated significant cloud cover.

Light winds with some passing mid to high level clouds prevail
across Deep South Texas early this morning. Isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop and impact local
aerodromes later this morning into the afternoon. VFR conditions
are expected to prevail through much of the period but brief MVFR
conditions will be possible in and around any heavier convection.
Outside any storms, light east to southeast winds are expected
through the next 24 hours.

Buoy 42020 reported southeast winds around 8 knots with seas
slightly over 1.3 feet with a period of 3 seconds at 0300 CDT/0800
UTC. Favorable conditions are expected through the period as the
pressure gradient remains weak to moderate across the western
Gulf. Light to occasionally moderate onshore flow and low seas of
1 to 3 feet are expected through Saturday. Isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms are expected through the period. Any
shower and especially thunderstorms can produce higher winds and
rough seas along with lightning and torrential rainfall.

(Saturday Night through Thursday)
Persistent high pressure over the western Gulf of Mexico will
produce light to moderate winds and low to moderate seas along
the Lower Texas Coast during the period. Small Craft Exercise
Caution and Small Craft Advisory are not expected to be needed.

Heat index values of 103 to 108 degrees are expected during the
afternoon hours.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast. Heavy rainfall,
producing nuisance flooding in low-lying and poorly-draining areas
and ponding of water on roads, is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

An elevated risk of rip currents is possible at the beaches of
South Padre Island and at Boca Chica Beach Sunday and Monday.

Generally scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for
Sunday through Thursday. Heavy rainfall, producing nuisance
flooding in low-lying and poorly-draining areas and ponding of
water on roads, is possible.
