the Illinois River near Tahlequah.
* From Wednesday morning to late Thursday night.
* At 7:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 7.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning to a crest of 12.4 feet early Thursday morning.
It will then fall below flood stage Thursday evening.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Hanging
Rock downstream towards Tahlequah. Extreme turbulence makes the
river too hazardous for floating.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this evening to a crest of 13.1 feet just after midnight tonight.
It will then fall below flood stage late tonight.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from the Arkansas
border to near Fidler's Bend. Extreme turbulence makes the river
unsafe for floating.
