The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 57
continues.
SUMMARY...A few severe wind gusts remain possible over the next
couple hours
DISCUSSION...An arcing line of storms with periodic QLCS structures
continues to move rapidly east toward the NY/VT border. A narrow
plume of instability remains ahead of this line, where breaks in the
clouds have maximized heating. This may help maintain wind gust
potential as the line crosses into VT. Mixing in association with
the dry slot will erode the better instability from the southwest,
while the line eventually outruns the northern extent. As a result,
the severe threat is not expected to extend much past the existing
watch boundary.
