The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northwestern Wasatch County in northern Utah...
  North central Utah County in northern Utah...

* Until 715 PM MDT

* At 648 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northeast
  of Brigham Young University, or 8 miles northeast of Provo, moving
  northeast at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. 

  SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees. 

* Locations impacted include...
  Provo, Heber City, Orem, Heber, Lindon, Daniel, Wasatch Mountain
  State Park, Timber Lakes, Midway, Charleston, Wallsburg, Deer Creek
  State Park, Sundance, Hailstone and Jordanelle Reservoir.

This includes US Route 40 between mile markers 9 and 31.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

If on or near Deer Creek Reservoir, get away from the water and move 
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you 
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter 
now!  Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

FOR NORTHWESTERN WASATCH AND NORTH CENTRAL UTAH COUNTIES...

At 705 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Timber Lakes,
or 7 miles southeast of Heber City, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. 

SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
