...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM MDT THIS 
EVENING FOR CENTRAL GARFIELD COUNTY...

At 550 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have 
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in 
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Capitol Reef National Park.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Muley Creek, Sandy Creek, Silver Falls Creek, North Fork Silver 
  Falls Creek, Dry Fork, Wolverine Creek, Halls Creek, Escalante 
  River, Bullfrog Creek, The Gulch and Moody Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry 
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a 
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where 
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become 
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or 
creeks.

CENTRAL GARFIELD COUNTY...

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a 
threat. Runoff from earlier heavy rainfall will continue to diminish 
through the evening hours. Additional brief heavy rainfall may enter 
the area in the next hour. Please continue to heed any road closures.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 600 AM MDT Thursday for 
portions of central Utah, northern Utah and southern Utah.
