* Flash Flood Warning for...
The Brian Head Burn Scar in...
East Central Iron County in southern Utah...
* Until 100 AM MDT.
* At 1007 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Brian Head Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 1 inch
of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the Brian Head burn scar. The debris flow can consist
of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Brian Head
Burn Scar.

Flash flooding and debris flows are expected to impact state route
143 between mile markers 6 and 10. Do not attempt to drive through
any flooded roadways.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
It is expected that this amount of rainfall will result in flash
flooding and a debris flow through the Parowan Creek drainage
including Benson, Center, Bowery, and Soda Springs side drainages.
State Route 143 is expected to receive debris, as well as locations
along Parowan Creek downstream to the town of Parowan. People in
this area should take action to ensure their safety!
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING FOR EAST CENTRAL IRON COUNTY...
The heavy rain has ended over the Brian Head burn scar. Flooding is
no longer expected to pose an immediate threat. Runoff and debris
flows from earlier heavy rain will gradually diminish, although
light to occasionally moderate rain will continue through late
tonight. Please continue to heed any remaining road closures.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 600 AM MDT.
