* At 345 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the upper Escalante River Basin. Between 0.75
and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

At 607 PM MDT, Doppler Radar estimates of between 0.75 and 1.50
inches of rain fell over a widespread of area of the mid and upper
portions of the Escalante River Basin, its tributaries, and slot
canyons accessed from the Hole in the Rock Road. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

The heavy rain has ended over the Escalante River Basin. Flooding is
no longer expected to pose a threat. Runoff from earlier heavy rain
will continue to gradually recede through the night.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT for a
portion of southern Utah.
