* Forecast...The lake is expected to rise above flood pool stage 
  early Monday morning and continue rising to 182.0 feet Sunday, 
  March 7.  Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...Expect minor flooding very similar to what occurred 
  earlier this year during January of 2021.  Expect bankfull 
  condition to redevelop and continue through most of March on Bayou 
  Bodcau below the lake and on Red Chute Bayou.

For the 27/12Z TAF update, MVFR/IFR cigs permeate our airspace,
as a warm front slowly proceeds north, clearing KTXK by 28/05Z
with southerly winds. FG remains possible at KSHV, KTYR, and KMLU
by 27/13Z. Overrunning southwest flow aloft will maintain a
majority of MVFR cigs, with a brief window for VFR possible by
28/03-06Z. Low MVFR returns for all terminals by 28/06Z with
-RA/-DZ possible for nearly all terminals through the end of the

.PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 424 AM CST Sat Feb 27 2021/

SHORT TERM.../Saturday through Monday/

Area wide, dew point depression values approach zero or are
already at zero with mostly calm winds this morning. As of 4 AM,
we have held off on a Dense Fog Advisory, however, with any
serious visibility deteriorations, issuing one later on in the
morning cannot be ruled out. The weak, stationary frontal boundary
behind remains draped generally across a line from Jacksonville,
TX to Mansfield, LA to just north of Monroe, LA.

This front will slowly drift northward through the afternoon as a
warm front, continuing warm air advection that will boost highs
past the mid-70s and into the lower 80s across our southern
zones. Additionally, persistent southwest flow aloft serves to
keep our atmosphere stimulated with Pacific moisture, overrunning
frontal boundaries near the surface.

Showers, plus a few thunderstorms (in northern zones), and cloud
cover will remain in place over most of the Ark-La-Tex well
through tomorrow afternoon. Tonight's lows will also remain
elevated into the mid-60s, well above average for this time of
the year. Tomorrow afternoon's highs will approach and exceed the
mid-70s once again, and by tomorrow night, rain chances increase
area wide as the cold front enters our northwest zones bringing
temperatures back down to the 50s. /16/

LONG TERM.../Monday through Saturday/

As we transition into the first day of the upcoming work week, all
indications are that we will be looking at a very wet commute as a
positive tilted longwave trough moves out of the OK/TX Pnhdl region
of the country and into the Middle Red River Valley of S OK and N
TX. At the surface, the dancing frontal boundary that can't decide
if it wants to return north or get pushed south will finally move
south of our region and stay south on Monday but not before we need
to be concerned with the potential for some heavier rainfall
continuing near and south of the I-20 Corridor of NE TX and N LA.
Have inserted the mention of isolated thunderstorms for Monday near
and south of the I-20 Corridor as well as there are some
discrepancies in the short term solutions as to just where the cold
front will be as we begin the day on Monday but at the very least,
elevated thunder will be possible even north of the boundary, at
least during the first half of the day.

Kept likely pops in the forecast for Monday Night as the GFS remains
the faster outlier with the passage of the filling upper level
disturbance for Tue compared to the slower ECMWF which holds onto
precipitation a little longer into Tuesday before ending.

There continues to be large spreads in the mid to late week medium
range progs with the upper level pattern across the Southern
Plains/Lower Miss Valley which continues to play havoc with the
forecast beginning Wed and continuing through the end of the work
week into next weekend. The ECMWF however is more in-line with the
slower GFS compared to 24 hours ago when it comes to a closed area
of low pressure exiting the Desert Southwest during the day
Wednesday before entering the Four Corners Region of the country
sometime in the Wed Night/Thu timeframe. For this forecast, have
kept Wed dry attm with slight chance pops late Wed Night through
Friday but I would not be surprised to see those rainfall chances
increasing for the mid/late week periods if the models continue to
close in on a slower consensus to the trough next week.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of south central
Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest
Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

While an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm cannot be ruled
out through tonight across mainly Southeast Oklahoma and adjacent
counties in Southwest Arkansas, widespread severe weather is not
likely through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday...

There will be a marginal threat for strong to severe thunderstorms
across the Four State Region Sunday into Sunday Night. While
widespread severe thunderstorms are not likely during this
timeframe, a storm producing hail and or strong wind is possible.
What is more likely will be the development of locally heavy
rainfall across portions of the Four State Region Sunday into
Monday. Some of this could cause flooding of poor drainage areas,
especially across portions of Southwest Arkansas where heavy
rainfall was observed over the last two days.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of emergency management personnel...amateur radio
operators...and storm spotters will likely not be needed through
tonight.
