.SYNOPSIS...High pressure will remain over the area through
today. The next weather system will arrive on Wednesday. High
pressure aloft will begin to rebuild into the region from the west
later Thursday and Friday for drier conditions to end the week.
Another system will arrive around Sunday.

.SHORT TERM /TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...Weak ridging aloft will
slide eastward across the region today for a dry day ahead. Areas
of morning low clouds will give way to a partly to mostly sunny
afternoon. High clouds will begin to filter in from the west by
afternoon as another frontal system approaches the area. High
temperatures in the lower 50s will be common...just a smidge below
seasonal norms.
Clouds will thicken up overnight with rain reaching the coast
well before dawn then spreading inland Wednesday morning. Rain
shadowing by the Olympics could limit precip totals around Puget
Sound. Post-frontal onshore flow will likely get a convergence
zone going for awhile Wednesday afternoon and evening. This system
should produce several inches of snow at the passes...perhaps 5
to 7 inches at Stevens Pass.
The flow aloft turns northerly on Thursday with showers coming to
an end by afternoon as upper ridging offshore begins to build into
the area. Clouds and precip will hold temps down a bit both
Wednesday and Thursday with highs a couple degrees either side of
50 for most of the lowlands.
.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...Upper ridging continues to
build into the region on Friday for what looks to be a pleasant
end to the week. The return of some sun will give temperatures a
boost back to around seasonal levels...and perhaps a few degrees
above by Saturday as the upper ridge axis slides overhead and low
level flow is only weakly onshore. Model agreement is relatively
good with another system clipping the region in the Sunday/Monday
timeframe for another round of lowland rain, mountain snow, and
temperatures falling back to a bit below normal. 27

.AVIATION...High pressure will build into the area today with
northerly flow aloft. Mostly clear skies this morning with lingering
moisture at the surface may allow for the development of MVFR fog or
low stratus for most terminals by daybreak. This should be a rather
shallow layer which should dissipate by late morning. Conditions
return to VFR for this afternoon and evening. Light winds expected
at the surface. Next frontal system arrives Wednesday.
KSEA...VFR conditions overnight. MVFR stratus or patchy fog is
possible this morning but should scatter out by early afternoon.
Light northerly winds expected turning more southerly tonight into
Wednesday.

today. Winds and seas will increase tonight into Wednesday ahead of
