.SYNOPSIS...Dry conditions will continue for Western Washington
through tonight with rain approaching and moving through Monday to
Tuesday. Things will remain unsettled for mid week, but a stronger
system will move through Thursday which will bring widespread
rain. More systems in store for the weekend.

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...Today will likely be the
end of the dry weather at the coast, as an approaching frontal
system is approaching the area and will likely bring rain to that
area starting Monday morning. The dry weather will stick around
for just a little bit longer for the inland locations, as we may
make it through the morning without rain. The interior area will
likely see another morning with some frost as overnight lows will
be in the low to mid 30s.
As rain moves through the area it will be mostly light but there
will likely be some brief pockets of moderate rain. Snow levels
will rise during the morning hours as the warm sector of the
frontal system moves through (5000-6000 feet) before lowering
Monday afternoon/evening (3000-4000 feet). Once the snow levels
drop snow will begin at the passes, with 4-8 inches expected to
fall between Monday and Tuesday. Due to some enhancement from the
convergence zone it is likely that Stevens Pass will be at the
higher end of the accumulation compared to Snoqualmie. A winter
weather advisory has been issued due to possible high snow fall
rates through the passes. Snow and any lingering rain showers
will gradually taper off later Tuesday. Weather will remain a bit
unsettled Wednesday as the earlier system fully exits the area and
the next system approaches. Expect cloudy skies and maybe some
isolated rain showers in the lowlands.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...Models have begun to
converge on a solution for the Thursday/Friday system that is
looking to be the strongest of this week. Models seem to agree
that the bulk of the energy and moisture will be headed for
Vancouver Island, but this is close enough that we will likely
widespread moderate to heavy rain Thursday. Snow levels are
expected to rise above 6000 feet during this time. The coast as
well as the North Cascades are likely to receive the most
rainfall, but uncertainty remains as to how much. We do anticipate
area rivers to rise due to this event. We are expecting additional
systems to move through during the weekend. These will bring
additional rainfall to the region.

.AVIATION...Upper ridge shifts eastward tonight with westerly flow
aloft becoming southwesterly on Monday. A frontal system will move
inland over Western Washington Monday evening. Patchy LIFR/IFR
conditions in stratus/fog redeveloping tonight, but coverage should
be more limited Monday morning with high and mid level clouds
increasing ahead of approaching frontal system. MVFR ceilings in
rain developing along the coast around 21Z Monday then spreading
into the interior Monday evening.
KSEA...VFR with mid/high level clouds from this afternoon into
tonight. Stratus/fog should be less overnight, but can't entirely
rule some patchy IFR in the vicinity of the terminal early Monday
AM. Clouds increasing and lowering through the day on Monday with
rain developing after 00Z and ceilings lower to MVFR. Surface winds
light and variable becoming southerly less than 10 knots by daybreak
Monday. 27

.MARINE...A rather weak frontal system will move across the
coastal waters Monday afternoon then inland Monday night
producing small advisory level southerlies at times. Post-
frontal onshore flow will produce SCA westerlies in the strait
and northern inland waters Monday night into Tuesday. Surface
ridging briefly builds over the waters midweek before a stronger
frontal system arrives Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day.
Offshore seas will increase to 9 to 11 feet with the passage of the
first front on Monday, briefly subside midweek, then build back to
above 10 feet as stronger systems arrives over the holiday period.

.HYDROLOGY...River flooding not expected through Wednesday. A
front will move through Thursday/Friday for widespread rainfall
and higher snow levels which will cause rivers to rise. Due to
uncertainty that remains in the rainfall forecast, uncertainty
remains with how high each of the area rivers will respond. An
additional system may bring rainfall Saturday for the area.
