.SYNOPSIS...Dry weather is expected for the next week. An upper
ridge will bring a warming trend this weekend with temperatures
peaking on Monday. Onshore flow will bring cooler weather Tuesday
and Wednesday. High pressure aloft will then bring another
warming trend for the end of the week.

.SHORT TERM /TODAY THROUGH MONDAY/...A weak upper short wave will
pass to the north today. The main impact will be to maintain low
level onshore flow today with some low clouds near the coast this
morning and a few high clouds elsewhere today. Highs today will
be similar to Friday - ranging from the 60s at the coast to 70s
for much of the interior.
An upper ridge will build over the area tonight and Sunday with
light low level onshore flow. This will allow highs to warm into
the 70s at the coast and lower to mid 80s for the interior. Monday
still looks like the warmest day in current warm spell. The upper
ridge will begin to break down but low level flow will be weak
onshore or even slightly offshore. Highs will be in the 70s coast
and 80s to near 90 for the interior. Schneider
.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...Cooler weather is expected
on Tuesday as a weak upper trough moves over the area and low
level onshore flow increases. Highs will cool on the order of 10
degrees with 60s at the coast and mid 70s to lower 80s for the
interior. The cooling trend will continue into Wednesday with
lower to mid 60s at the coast and lower to mid 70s inland.
Wednesday will likely be the coolest day of the upcoming week.
An upper ridge will rebuild over the area Thursday and Friday.
There will be a corresponding warming trend with highs back in
the lower to mid 80s for the interior by Friday. Schneider

.AVIATION...Zonal flow aloft will gradually become more northwesterly
into today as an upper level high builds across the northeastern
Pacific. VFR conditions will continue for area terminals throughout
the period, however satellite imagery does show another round of
stratus developing along the coast. Overall, do not expect stratus
to push too far inland - primarily expect it to impact terminals
directly along the coast (KHQM). A narrow band of low clouds and
stratus has formed over parts of the Kitsap Peninsula (KPWT) but
will not likely make much of an eastward reach. Mid to high-cloud
cover will then increase across the northwestern portion of the
CWA today as the system to the north moves inland over British
Columbia and mainly brings broken VFR cigs to northern terminals
such as KCLM and KBLI.
KSEA...VFR conditions under passing high cirrus. Surface winds
northeasterly 4-6 knots until 14-15Z, then becoming more northerly
in the early afternoon, between 6-8 kts through the rest of the
period.

.MARINE...Marine stratus over the outer coastal waters and
portions of the Strait of Juan de Fuca early this morning. High
pressure will remain over the northeastern Pacific through early
next week, promoting generally northerly winds over the coastal and
inland waters and west winds through Strait of Juan de Fuca. A
thermal trough along the coast may build northward from Oregon on
Monday, potentially shifting flow more northerly or even slightly
offshore.
Seas over the coastal waters will remain choppy through the end
of the week with a mix of several short-period components.
Dominant periods should lengthen to around 9 or 10 seconds over
the weekend as a somewhat larger west-northwest swell becomes the
primary component.
