Trinidad, Las Animas...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage just after 
  midnight tonight to 9.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall 
  below flood stage tomorrow afternoon to 4.0 feet and begin rising 
  again Wednesday evening. It will rise to 4.9 feet early Thursday 
  afternoon. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor Flood. Minor agricultural flooding 
  occurs into low lying areas along the river.

Purgatoire River between Trinidad and Las Animas, The water will 
continue to flow past Las Animas and cause it to rise to flood stage 
by tomorrow morning.

For the Purgatoire River...including Las Animas...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet 
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, 
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, 
stop, turn around and go another way.
