The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  
Coastal and outer waters from Sandy Hook to Cape May NJ...

* Until 715 PM EDT.

* At 508 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from 10 nm
  northeast of Shark River Reef to 14 nm northwest of Atlantic City,
  moving southeast at 60 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and small 
           hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural 
           damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in 
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ocean Gate, Atlantic City, Little Egg Reef, Atlantic City Reef,
  Ship Bottom, Great Egg Inlet, Barnegat Light Reef, Garden State
  South Reef, Harvey Cedars, Forked River, Great Egg Reef,
  Lavallette, Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, North Beach Haven, Garden
  State North Reef, Shark River Reef, Little Egg Inlet, Buoy Ge and
  Seaside Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
