This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

The remnants of Ida will continue to affect the area this
afternoon and tonight. Heavy rainfall will be possible, and an
isolated tornado cannot be ruled out this afternoon across the far
southern valley. The primary areas of concern for heavy rains and
flooding will be along the higher terrain of the Southern
Appalachians and across southwest North Carolina where 1 to 3
inches of rain are forecast.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

At 348 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Spring City, or 11 miles north of Decatur, moving north at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

...Strong showers and thunderstorms will impact portions of eastern
Sullivan, northeastern Unicoi, Johnson, Carter, southern Russell and
Washington Counties and the City of Bristol through 700 PM EDT...

At 619 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking showers and possibly a
thunderstorm along a line extending from near Bakersville to near
Elk Park to near Blowing Rock In Caldwell County. Movement was north
at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 45 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Bristol Tn, Bristol Va, Elizabethton, Abingdon, Mountain City,
Central, Walnut Hill, Hampton, Pine Crest and Unicoi.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
