.DISCUSSION...

...Freezing Temperatures in Spots North and West of Orlando...
...Wind Chill Advisory Overnight through Daybreak Wednesday...

Current-Tonight...Local winds will diminish further into the
overnight period; however, sufficient winds along with the cold
temperatures will bring hazardous wind chill readings to the area
overnight through daybreak.

Near optimal radiational cooling expected under mainly clear skies
with temperatures forecast to drop into the low to mid 30s overnight
across the area. Temperatures will drop fairly quickly this evening
due to the very dry/cool nature of the airmass. A Freeze Warning
is in effect for Lake and Volusia counties where temperatures will
drop to 31F-32F. Temperatures for other inland, rural, and wind
sheltered locations are forecast to drop to 33F-35F. It is certainly
possible a few spots could reach freezing for an hour or two just
around sunrise on Wednesday morning. It is fairly dry in the
low-levels, but patchy frost is also possible.

Cold Weather Safety: Sensitive persons should dress appropriately
for the cold weather. This includes wearing multiple layers of
clothing, a hat and gloves, as needed. Cold weather shelters may be
open in your location tonight. Check with local county emergency
management for locations and operating hours of shelters.

Be extra cautious if using space heaters and keep them well away
from combustible material such as pillows, blankets and curtains.
Outdoor pets and sensitive plants should be brought indoors tonight
to avoid being hurt by the cold. This will be the second of three
very cold nights in central Florida this week.

Wed...A very cold start to the day and feeling a bit more raw when
wind chill values are added to the equation. Surface high pressure
over the central CONUS will drop southeastward toward the FL
peninsula allowing the pressure gradient to begin to slacken with
WNW-NW winds near 10 mph over the interior/Volusia coast and 10-15
mph along the Space/Treasure Coast. Winds will also be less gusty
this day. Another day of near full sunshine, though temperatures in
this continued cold/dry airmass will struggle into the U50s to near
60F across the I-4 corridor and L60s southward.

Wednesday night...Final cold night with this event expected into
Wednesday night-early Thursday morning, as high pressure across the
area generates favorable radiational cooling conditions. It looks to
be at least as cold as tonight-early Wednesday morning, with
potential for a wider freeze as lows again drop into the low to mid
30s across much of the region. Some higher level clouds may move in
overnight, which could keep temps up a bit, preventing freezing
temperatures. However, frost development will also be likely across
much of the area, except barrier islands and Martin County coast
where min temps around 40 degrees are generally expected.

.AVIATION...VFR over the next 36 hours. Winds have diminished as
expected with nightfall. Lighter and less gusty WNW-NW winds
will continue during Wed.

.MARINE...Current-Tonight...Winds slowly diminishing over the open
Atlc. Higher gusts earlier today to gale force have abated, and a
Small Craft Advisory will continue for all waters through late
Wednesday morning.

Wed...WNW-NW winds gradually improve from late morning into the
afternoon. Initial seas 4-5 ft near shore and 5-8 ft offshore will
subside to 3-5 ft near shore and 4-6 ft offshore by the end of the
day. Should be able to scale back the SCA during the morning and
afternoon, though Cautionary Statements may be necessary for a
period or two once the SCA is dropped.

Thu-Sat...High pressure over the area Thursday will shift eastward
over the western Atlantic, with northerly winds decreasing and
eventually becoming more southerly by late Thu-Thu night. Winds
increase out of the southwest Fri to 15-20 knots as the high exits
over the SW Atlc, with seas building briefly offshore up to 5 feet
to potentially 6 feet well offshore of the Volusia County coast. On
Sat, a weak frontal boundary is forecast to stall over or just north
of the local Atlc waters which will reduce the pres grad and the
wind speeds, but will increase the chance of showers. Seas will
range from 2-4 feet.

Wed...Dry/cool conditions continue. WNW-NW (20FT/SFC) winds 10-15
mph. Min low RHs M-U20s interior and U20s-M30s near coast.

Thu...Low RH values continue with Min RH values again as low as the
upper 20s to low 30s across the interior, and around 40 percent
along the coast, with light and variable winds.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

.EXCESSIVE COLD IMPACT...
It will be even colder tonight into Wednesday morning as temperatures
plummet into the low to mid 30s across east-central Florida. A Freeze
Warning is in effect for Lake and Volusia counties where temperatures
as low as 31 degrees are expected. In other counties, a few rural,
normally colder, and wind sheltered locations could reach near-
freezing around sunrise Wednesday. Patchy frost is also possible.
Wind chill values tonight will range from the mid 20s to lower
30s.

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for all of east central Florida
from 2 AM through 9 AM on Wednesday.

Cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills.
Make sure you dress appropriately for the cold weather, including
a coat, a hat and gloves. Cold weather shelters may be open in your
location tonight. Check with local county emergency management
for locations and operating hours of shelters.

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
There is a high risk of strong, dangerous rip currents at all
central Florida Atlantic beaches. A long period swell will also
produce breaking waves of 5 to 6 feet. Entering the chilly water
is not recommended.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
A Small Craft Advisory remains in place over the Atlantic waters
where wind speeds around 20-25 knots will produce seas 5 to 7
feet nearshore, and 7 to 9 feet offshore.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.
The cold episode this week will continue Wednesday night into
Thursday morning with temperatures dropping into the low to mid
30s. Due to light winds and clear skies, conditions appear
favorable for frost to develop across much of the area, or for
freezing temperatures to occur.

Sensitive fire weather conditions will continue through Thursday
due to dry conditions. Hazardous marine and boating conditions
along with a high risk of rip currents will continue into
Wednesday before conditions improve late week.
