strong cold front will push through the area Saturday night and
early Sunday morning. Strong high pressure will build in Sunday

As of 910 PM Thursday...Lowered init temps and overnight lows
quite a bit as already in low 30s few spots. Batch of SCU
developing to the W will spread E and these clouds in combo with
light srly winds late will lead to temps likely rising a bit
before daybreak.

Prev disc...Cool high pressure centered over the area this
afternoon with near zonal flow aloft. A thick veil of high
clouds is streaming across the area which has help to limit

will push east late afternoon/early evening with skies becoming
mainly clear allowing for good radiational cooling and expect
temps to drop fairly quickly initially. However, clouds are
expected to increase again after midnight which should keep
temps from falling further, and they may even increase a couple
of degrees if they become think enough. Can't rule out patchy
fog developing overnight but the clouds moving late should be an
inhibiting factor. Lows expected in the mid to upper 30s inland
to 40s along the coast.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM THIS MORNING THROUGH 6 PM SATURDAY/...
As of 415 PM Thursday...High pressure slides offshore Friday
with a warm front lifting across the area late in the day. Weak
isentropic lift could be sufficient to bring a few light showers
across the area in the afternoon but rainfall amounts will be
very light. Temps will be warmer with southerly flow developing
in the afternoon bringing weak WAA and expect highs in the mid
60s inland to around 70 coast.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
As of 230 AM Thu...Sat should be mostly dry and very warm.
Near record temps possible. See Climate section below for
details. There will be a small threat of a few coastal showers
and showers could sneak into the coastal plain toward evening
ahead of a strong cold front. Complicating the forecast Sat will
be the potential for coastal sea fog as warm/moist air moves
across the now cool shelf waters. Areas inland should be able to
warm well into 70s. The models now agree in a faster solution
in bringing the cold front through Sat night and this is when
the bulk of the rainfall will occur. Will continue to cap pops
at likely for now. Could even see some thunderstorms with modest
instability along the coast. The front could be offshore by 12Z
Sunday so Sunday should be dry but will carry a small pop in
the morning for a lingering coastal shower, in case the frontal
passage timing changes. With the front through faster it will be
cooler with highs in the 50s for Sunday.

Dry and seasonably cool weather expected for early next week as
surface high pressure prevails across the area. Temps will grad
warm through the week with highs mid week back into the 60s.

.AVIATION /06Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
SHORT TERM /through Friday night/...
As of 1225 AM Fri...Satellite imagery showing a deck of SCU
pushing in from the west this morning with more sct coverage
overhead currently. Obs upstream show near- MVFR criteria with
ceilings around 3-4k ft. Will likely see some oscillation of
VFR/MVFR ceilings for inland terminals this morning as this SCU
deck moves east. Sct SCU overhead now is slowing radiational
cooling overall, which will likely limit much fog development to
MVFR vis and shallow steam fog through daybreak. Ceilings lift
more reliably to VFR after sunrise, with clouds scattering
across the southern half of the region during the day. Cloud
coverage fills in again mid to late aftn as SW flow ahead of the
next storm system improves. Cigs expected to drop to MVFR once
again tonight.

LONG TERM /Friday night through Monday/...
As of 230 AM Thu...Patchy light rain and occasional sub VFR
conditions will be possible Fri evening into Sat as a warm
front lifts north through the area. Scattered to numerous
showers Saturday night could bring sub-VFR conditions into
Sunday morning. Gusty SSW winds Sat, with gusts 20-25 kt. The
front will cross the terminals early Sun morning, with winds
shifting to the north.

As of 910 PM Thursday...Winds and seas cont to diminish with
high pres edging off the coast.

prev disc..High pressure over the waters tonight will move
offshore Friday. NE to E wind around 5-15 kt this afternoon will
become light and variable overnight, then southerly around 5-15
kt Friday afternoon. Seas around 3-5 ft late this afternoon
will subside to 2-4 ft this evening through Friday.

LONG TERM /Friday night through Monday/...
As of 230 AM Thu...SCA conditions are expected to begin Fri
night and continue through the weekend. Gusts to Gale Force
will be possible Sat night and Sun morning. Moderate SW winds
10-15 kt develop Friday then strong SW winds develop Fri night
into Sat evening ahead of a cold front. The front crosses the
waters Sunday morning followed by a brief period of strong
northerly winds. Northerly winds will grad diminish Sun night
and Mon as high pressure builds in.

Seas 2-3 ft build with increasing winds Friday night into
Saturday, peaking at 6-9 ft Sat night and continuing AOA 6 ft
through Sunday. Seas will grad subside to 2-3 ft by Mon
afternoon.
