The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for a portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, East Carteret, Greene, Hatteras Island, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Mainland Dare, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Northern Craven, Northern Outer Banks, Ocracoke Island, Pamlico, Pitt, Southern Craven, Tyrrell, Washington and West Carteret. * From late tonight through Monday morning. * Tropical moisture will stream into Eastern NC along and ahead of the track of Tropical Cyclone Claudette. Heavy rain will move into the region after midnight tonight, and exit the coast Monday morning. Average rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches will fall, but locally heavier amounts can be expected. Heavy rain rates of 2 inches per hour or more will affect the Monday morning commute. The heaviest rain will fall near the coast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
