UPDATE...Evening Update and Aviation Discussion.

DISCUSSION...

Updated to remove the Heat Advisory for this evening. A heat
advisory and Excessive heat warning has been issued for portions
of the Midsouth tomorrow and will likely be needed through at
least Wednesday.

PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 338 PM CDT Sun Aug 22 2021/

DISCUSSION...
Hot and mostly dry conditions will should be expected over the
first half of the week. A few showers and storms will be possible
Monday along and west of the Mississippi River. A Heat Advisory
and Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for portions of the
forecast area for Monday. We expect heat indices to be in the 105
to 112 range over the advised/warned areas. Expect the trend of
the heat advisory to continue through at least Wednesday as the
upper ridge maintains its hold over the region. As we get later
into the week...the ridge starts to weaken some and rain chances
increase and temperatures will moderate. Expect daily rain chances
of 20 to 30 percent to be the rule. Also an easterly wave is
expected to move across the southeast to help enhance POPs in the
latter half of the week going into the weekend. All in all a
typical summertime pattern is expected for the Mid South.
