* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage 
  tomorrow evening and continue rising to a crest of 28.0 feet early 
  Monday afternoon. Additional rainfall is expected through next 
  week, so further rises are possible.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet, Low lying pastures and timber land along 
  the river begins to flood. Sandy Beach Park at Camden starts to 
  flood.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet, Sandy Beach Park and portions of the 
  Riverwalk area off of Washington Street are inundated.

.AVIATION...Updated w/ a discussion for the 26/12Z TAFs

Widespread -RA w/ some TS was noted over the Srn half of the state
early Fri morning. -RA will cont to impact Cntrl and Srn terminals
through the morning, and taper off from the N/W to S/E early Fri
afternoon. Most notably in the PD, IFR CIGs will prevail,
eventually overtaking the fcst area and impacting all terminals.
VIS restrictions and patchy fog will persist alongside low CIGs
following the end of lingering SHRA, and Nrn terminals are
anticipated to see an improvement near the end of the PD.

.PREV DISCUSSION...(ISSUED 247 AM CST Fri Feb 26 2021)
SHORT TERM...Today Through Saturday Night

Current radar mosaic imgry depicted moderate rainfall ongoing over
the Srn portion of the state this AM, and some embedded stronger
updrafts producing locally heavier rainfall and lightning. QPE
around the fcst area was showing widespread readings of 1/2" to 1"
w/ some localized amounts >1". WV imgry depicted an upper shortwave
located over OK, beginning to eject across the fcst area. This
feature in conjunction w/ a LLJ of 30-40 kts and a sfc stationary
frnt draped across Srn AR/Nrn LA, will lkly cont to drive widespread
steady rainfall across the region through the morning hours of
Fri.

As rainfall cont through the overnight PD, antecedent soil
saturation will start to play a role in the evolution of FFG values.
1 hr and 3 hr FFG values are remaining manageable at issuance of
this fcst, w/ current QPF guidance not indicating any major
compromises. However, Thurs night/Fri morning rainfall totals will
setup a "primed" region for increasing flash flooding risk in the
next few days w/ more rainfall anticipated.

Through the remainder of Fri, the aforementioned sfc bndry will
remain stalled over the AR/LA border region, and is the focus for
the highest Chc PoPs, which will eventually tail off over the N/W
portion of the state.

Sat...H500 flow progs depict a broader troughing pattern digging
into the Cont Divide, w/ a smaller and more transient perturbation
meandering through the trof basin. At the sfc, the associated low-
lvl mass response will lkly develop over the Cntrl high plains w/
sfc cyclonic flow intensifying across the region. As such, a
strengthening sfc pres grad will allow for Srly winds to return and
a regime of WAA will ensue. The meandering stationary frnt will
finally acquire some gusto and begin to lift N/wrd, and the
associated moisture flux invof isentropic ascent/WAA will allow for
Chc PoPs to resume across the state, w/ some potential for
convective activity as well, particularly over the Nrn portion of
the state. The caveat here is that once again, elevated
buoyancy...MUCAPE ~ 500 J/kg...will be in place atop a cooler and
more stable sfc bndry layer, and lkly inhibit sfc based storm
development, keeping any widespread severe activity at bay. The
location of the greatest QPF...e.g. another 1" to 1-1/2"...from this
next system is progged over Nrn AR, due in part to the sfc bndry
finally lifting N/wrd, and should help in allowing for some recovery
of FFG values over Srn AR where prior rainfall will have occurred.

LONG TERM...Sunday Through Thursday

My overall thinking hasn't changed much. Upper flow will largely
remain southwesterly or zonal. Surface boundary will be meandering
around the region. With a deep Pacific fetch of moisture and several
waves moving through and interacting with the boundary, expect a
continued chance for showers and a few thunderstorms.

Not surprisingly, with this pattern, we will see an increased
likelihood of locally heavy rainfall, particularly over central and
southern Arkansas. As tends to be the case with this pattern, storms
will form and move over the same areas, and taking this into account
along with soil moisture from heavy snowfall this month, this will
create and sustain flash flooding potential.

As I stated yesterday, we still don't have a great handle on
expected rainfall amounts this far out, but it's something to keep
an eye on.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Widespread rain will continue through the morning hours of
Friday, with intermittent thunder and lightning, however severe
weather is not anticipated. Widespread rainfall accumulations of
one inch to one and a half inches with some localized amounts
exceeding two inches will be possible by Friday night,
particularly over the southern half of Arkansas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday Through Thursday

Rain chances will continue this weekend and into next week, as
several systems bring periods of showers and a few thunderstorms to
the state. At this time, the threat of strong storms is low during
this period. However, there will be an increased threat for heavy
precipitation, with several inches of rain possible.

Details regarding the placement and extent of this heavy rainfall
threat remains uncertain this far out in time. Continue to monitor
the latest forecasts and statements from your Arkansas NWS offices.
