  Louisiana...
  St. Charles Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  West central Orleans Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  Northwestern Jefferson Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 415 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Killona to near Ama, moving northeast at 20
  mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  New Orleans, Avondale, Metairie, Hahnville, Marrero, Laplace,
  Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Montz, Luling, River Ridge,
  Boutte, Ama, Destrehan, St. Rose, Killona, Norco and Paradis.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 210 and 246.
 Interstate 55 in Louisiana near mile marker 1.
 Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 11.
 Interstate 510 between mile markers 1 and 3.
 Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring 
with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of 
nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are 
close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The storms which prompted the severe thunderstorm warning have 
weakened. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. 

However, heavy rain is still occurring with these storms and a flash 
flood warning remains in effect for portions of the area.
