  Northeastern St. Charles Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 339 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 4 inches in 1 
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in 
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

At 407 PM CDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain in New Orleans. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The 
expected rainfall rate is 1 to 4 inches in 1 hour. Additional 
rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. 
Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  New Orleans, Metairie, Avondale, Marrero, Harvey, Timberlane, 
  Belle Chasse, Chalmette, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, 
  Elmwood, River Ridge, Bridge City, Waggaman, Ama, St. Rose, 
  Woodmere and Terrytown.

This includes the following Interstates...
	Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 217 and 245.
	Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.
	Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 8.

Rain has ended for now but there have been some localized flash 
flooding and stalled vehicles. Heavier rain is just to the southwest 
and is anticipated to move into the warned area soon. This rain has 
been very efficient and could quickly lead to problems.
