The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a
* Flood Warning for
the Altamaha River At Everett City.
* From Tuesday evening until further notice.
* At 9:15 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 10.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Tuesday
evening and continue rising to 13.9 feet early Thursday afternoon.
Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Agricultural and timber lands near the
river are flooded.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Water begins to encroach upon Altamaha
Regional Park in Glynn County. This includes Altamaha Park Road,
Betty Lott Lane and Bee Tree Island Road. In McIntosh County,
Barrington Park at the end of Harper Lake Road begins to flood.
Blue Reach Road also begins to flood near the Long County line.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Portions of Altamaha Regional Park become
inundated, including the park campground, boat ramps and parking
lots. Bee Tree Island Road is flooded and closed. The end of Betty
Lott Lane is flooded and homes become cut off.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet, In Glynn County, the majority of Altamaha
Regional Park becomes inundated, including water flowing across
sections of Altamaha Park Road and Pennick Road. The Altamaha
Regional Park is subject to closure at this level. Homes in the
vicinity of the park are cut off by flood waters at this level,
but elevated structures are not flooded. In McIntosh County, much
of Barrington Park is underwater. Plum Orchard Road begins to
flood.

* Until Wednesday evening.
* At 7:45 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 18.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
Wednesday afternoon and continue falling to 8.8 feet Friday
evening.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet, Bankfull conditions occur along the river
upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S. Highway 221
bridge. Some flooding begins in low lying areas around 1.5 miles
upstream from the gage in south Montgomery County. The water will
approach portions of Three Rivers Lane...Altamaha River Road and
Ogle Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding
occurs in the woodlands along the river upstream and downstream
from the gage on the U.S. Highway 221 bridge. The water reaches
the top of the public boat ramp by the bridge. Flood waters expand
in low lying areas in south Montgomery County around 1.5 miles
upstream from the gage. The water will begin to cover portions of
Three Rivers Lane...Altamaha River Road and Ogle Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Minor flooding continues in the woodlands
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S.
Highway 221 bridge. The water covers the low portion and entrance
of Towns Bluff Lane by the bridge. The public boat ramp is under
two feet of water. Flood waters expand further into south
Montgomery County around 1.5 miles upstream from the gage. The
water will be one to two feet deep over portions of Three Rivers
Lane...Altamaha River Road and Ogle Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Minor flooding expands into the woodlands
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S.
Highway 221 bridge. The water will be one to two feet deep over
portions of Towns Bluff Lane by the bridge. Flood waters continue
to expand further into south Montgomery County around 1.5 miles
upstream from the gage. The water will be 2 to 4 feet over large
portions of Three Rivers Lane...Altamaha River Road and Ogle
Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding expands further into the
woodlands along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on
the U.S. Highway 221 bridge. Flood waters will completely cover
Towns Bluff Lane by the bridge and begin to flood the slab
foundations of the elevated homes. Flood waters expand further
into south Montgomery County around 1.5 miles upstream from the
gage. The water will be 4 to 6 feet deep over large portions of
Three Rivers Lane...Altamaha River Road and Ogle Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet, Minor flooding expands upstream and
downstream from the Highway 221 bridge. Flood waters near 3 feet
deep cover Towns Bluff Lane and flood the slab foundations of the
elevated homes. Flooding expands further into Montgomery County
with the water 5 to 7 feet deep over large portions of Three
Rivers Lane...Altamaha River Road and Ogle Sandbar Road. The water
reaches the top of boat ramps and parking lots will begin to flood
in Towns Bluff Park and along the end of Uvalda Landing Road in
Jeff Davis County.

* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
Thursday morning and continue falling to 72.3 feet Friday evening.
* Impact...At 74.5 feet, Flooding of agricultural and timber lands
is expected. Deens Landing and Linton Carter Landing boat ramps,
picnic areas and parking lots begin to flood.
* Impact...At 78.0 feet, Deens Landing and Carter Linton Landing are
completely flooded. Davis Landing Road, Morris Landing Road and
Getaway Lane at Carters Bight Landing begin to flood.

* From late tonight to Friday evening.
* At 8:00 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 11.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
tonight to a crest of 12.6 feet early Tuesday afternoon. It will
then fall below flood stage early Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Agricultural and timber lands along the
river begin to flood.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Jaycee Landing and Oglethorpe Landing boat
ramps begin to flood. Other low lying properties along the river
begin to flood.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Jaycee Landing and Oglethorpe Landing
parking lots flood as well as walkways to docks at the landing.
Upper County boat ramp begins to flood. Three hunting and fish
camps along the river become isolated and are inundated by flood
waters.

* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Water begins to encroach upon Altamaha
Regional Park in Glynn County. This includes Altamaha Park Road,
Betty Lott Lane and Bee Tree Island Road. In McIntosh County,
Barrington Park at the end of Harper Lake Road begins to flood.
Blue Reach Road also begins to flood near the Long County line.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Portions of Altamaha Regional Park become
inundated, including the park campground, boat ramps and parking
lots. Bee Tree Island Road is flooded and closed. The end of Betty
Lott Lane is flooded and homes become cut off.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet, In Glynn County, the majority of Altamaha
Regional Park becomes inundated, including water flowing across
sections of Altamaha Park Road and Pennick Road. The Altamaha
Regional Park is subject to closure at this level. Homes in the
vicinity of the park are cut off by flood waters at this level,
but elevated structures are not flooded. In McIntosh County, much
of Barrington Park is underwater. Plum Orchard Road begins to

.UPDATE...
Current forecast on track with cooler and drier airmass filtering
in on breezy northerly flow in the wake of the cold front from
last night. The 12Z JAX sounding showed significant subsidence
above about 925 mb and PWAT of just 0.39 inches. Just a few
stratocumulus will move in during the day over the southeast most
zones due to north- northeast flow but generally clear skies
prevail. Little change to the max temps mainly in the 70s today,
and have tweaked wind speeds up slightly for today. For min temps
tonight, guidance has trended a little lower so adjusted a few
areas down 2-3 degrees.
.MARINE...
Forecast on track and only change was to bump up seas for the
update.
Rip current risk: Moderate to strong northerly winds and
longshore current will result in hazardous surf and rip currents
today. Forecast looks good with little change.
.FIRE WEATHER...
Widespread min RH values in the 30s today with dispersions up around
the 55-70 range. Fire weather a bit sensitive today due to below
normal rainfall in the last 60 days over some areas.

.PREV DISCUSSION [736 AM EDT]...
.NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
A cold frontal zone, noted by a distinct dewpoint gradient in the
surface analysis, is bisecting north-central FL early this
morning. It will continue to slide southward with a considerably
dry airmass filtering in behind it. Showers have dissipated over
land early this morning while scattered showers continue to slide
over the coastal waters. Temperatures were falling faster than
anticipated in the drier air and parts of inland GA are already
reading the mid 50s as of 2 AM.
Surface high pressure over the southern Plains will slide
northeastward toward the southern Appalachians today. Despite
slight weakening of the high pressure, local pressure gradients
will remain squeezed through the afternoon. This will lead to
gusty north winds across the area today, with the strongest winds
expected along the coast where gusts up to 30 mph are possible.
Along with winds, temperatures will be cooler today with cool, dry
airmass taking hold. Temps will start off on the cool side this
morning and warm to the mid low to mid 70s, except in southern
Marion County where communities there may reach the low 80s.
Tonight, winds will begin to relax as gradients loosen and high
pressure centers itself north of the area. Efficient radiative
cooling under clear skies will allow temps to dip into the mid to
upper 40s in the Suwannee Valley and inland southeast GA while the
rest of inland northeast FL experiences lower to mid 50s.
Northeast breeziness and a component of onshore flow will keep the
beaches in the low 60s.
.SHORT TERM [Monday Through Tuesday]...
Monday & Tuesday...
Synopsis...Dry weather with below normal temperatures through
Monday then a gradual warming trend into Tuesday.
Tranquil weather as surface high pressure builds across the
central Appalachians Monday then settles farther south across
GA/SC into Tuesday as an upper level ridge gradually shifts
eastward from the central CONUS. Passing high cirrus clouds will
move across the area aloft Monday with a few coastal cumulus,
otherwise mostly clear skies will prevail. Light northerly
drainage winds at night will become onshore each day, prevailing
from the NNE to ENE. Gusts near 20 mph possible at coastal
locations Monday, then as the low level ridge settles farther
south and closer to the local area into Tuesday, speeds lower. The
main weather concern will be elevated rip current risk along the
coast due to onshore flow.
Temperatures will trend below normal Monday with highs in the 70s
with near 80 toward Ocala. A dry airmass and lighter northerly
drainage winds Monday night will continue lows in the mid/upper
40s across inland SE GA and potentially a few locations near the
I-10 corridor of the Suwannee River Valley, but a transition to
NNE flow will bring warmer low temps to coastal locations and NE
FL where lows will generally range in the 50s to low 60s along the
NE FL coast. Tuesday the warming trend continues with highs
warming back to near climo values in the low 80s with lows Tue
night still below normal but trending more mild with values in the
50s inland to low/mid 60s toward the coast under weak, more moist
onshore flow. There will be better potential for inland fog
across SE GA and parts of NE FL Tuesday night into Wed morning.
.LONG TERM [Wednesday Through Sunday]...
A warming trend and mostly dry weather continues Wed into Thu as
the surface ridge builds offshore of the SE Atlantic coast with
low level flow veering further ESE and weak coastal troughs
beginning to form offshore of the FL Atlantic coast as the upper
level ridge breaks down. By Thu afternoon into Thu evening, there
is a low chance of mainly coastal showers across our FL waters and
potential our coastal FL zones as a pseudo-warm front/coastal
trough develops ahead of a a weakening cold front. Cloud cover
will increase Thu night into Friday as the weakening frontal zone
slides southward into the region, but the features becomes
increasingly moisture starved by the time it arrives across the
local forecast area Fri afternoon into Fri evening as parent
dynamics lift NNE of the area, so at this time continued with a
low chance of showers with this system. A return of cooler, drier
weather is expected next weekend with breezy onshore flow at the
coast Saturday.
Seasonally warm highs highs will generally range in the 80s with
lows moderating from the upper 50s Wed/Thu nights well inland to
mostly in the 60s.
.AVIATION...
[Through 12Z Monday]
Clear skies prevail with VFR. Some marginal LLWS until 14Z indicated
in guidance and 12Z JAX sounding with ~25 kt at 1000-1500 ft but
not enough to include in TAFs. Otherwise, mainly just a wind
forecast with a north wind around 10 kt to start off around 12Z,
becoming north- northeast 10-15 kt by about 14Z with the stronger
winds up to 15 knots with gusts of 20-22 kt at SGJ and CRG. Winds
will relax this evening, and back slightly to the north. A few
marine stratocumulus expected around SGJ at times through tonight.
.MARINE...
Small Craft Advisory conditions today. Gusty post-frontal north
winds up to 30 knots are possible through afternoon along with
combined seas up to around 4 to 6 feet. Gradients will begin to
slack up this evening with sustained winds decreasing to Exercise
Caution (EC) levels tonight. High pressure will remain north then
northeast through the latter portion of the week. This will
continue an onshore flow pattern through Thursday before a cold
front approaches and turns the flow southerly on Friday.
Rip Currents: Increasing winds and surf along the northeast FL
coast will bring a High Risk of rips today, while lower surf will
keep the risk moderate at southeast GA beaches. Persistent onshore
flow will keep a moderate risk Monday and Tuesday.
.FIRE WEATHER...
With little measurable rainfall expected the next week, there will
be increasing concerns for elevated wildfire danger especially for
parts of the Jacksonville and Bunnell FFS districts where 30 day
rainfall departures show 2-5 inches of below normal rainfall.
