.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 306 AM EDT Fri Aug 13 2021

A cold front will continue to push across the area today, with a
chance for showers and thunderstorms mainly southeast of
Interstate 69 this afternoon/early evening. Dry and pleasant
weather then settles in for the weekend.

.SHORT TERM...(This Evening through Saturday)

Cold front continues to push from NW to SE across the forecast
area this afternoon. There remains a chance to see some convective
development as this front pushes into east-central IN/NW OH given
the moist and marginally unstable environment. With effective
shear in the 25-30kt range, should storms develop, can't rule out
an isolated strong to marginally severe wind gust. Cold front
moves southeast of the forecast area just after 8PM EDT which will
remove precip chances. The cooler post-frontal airmass will allow
overnight low temperatures to drop into the upper 50s. The cooler
temperatures and abundant ground moisture could result in patchy
ground fog Saturday morning. Dry conditions are anticipated on
Saturday as high pressure builds over the western Great
Lakes/western Ohio River Valley.

.LONG TERM...(Saturday Night through Friday)

Dry conditions are expected through the weekend and into the
start of next week. Southerly moisture returns over the course of
the day on Monday as high pressure builds across the Eastern
Seaboard and broad troughing develops over the Western Great
Lakes. This will open the area up to multiple opportunities for
convection and possibly tropical remnants however, confidence in
timing these feature out at this distance is very low. As such,
the forecast will stick close to a blended solution.

.AVIATION...(For the 18Z TAFS through 18Z Saturday Afternoon)
Issued at 121 PM EDT Fri Aug 13 2021

Cold front pushes through the terminals by the evening time with
clearing or scattering of clouds expected afterwards. Initial MVFR
CIGs are expected to become VFR by the evening. With the clear skies
and remnant groundwater, could see some ground fog forming as
radiational cooling takes place. Models currently aren't indicating
any formation occurs in the visibility parameter, but model
soundings do show an inversion forming. Will include a token 5SM BR
for Saturday morning in anticipation of some patchy ground fog for
now, but later issuances will need to monitor this going forward.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southern Huntington
and central Wells Counties through 615 PM EDT...

At 534 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southwest of Markle, or 9 miles south of Huntington, moving
southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

This strong thunderstorm will be near...
  Markle around 540 PM EDT.

Other locations in the path of this storm include Bluffton.

This includes Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 272 and
289.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

At 603 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Bluffton, moving east at 25 mph.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
