...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern
Robeson, southwestern Bladen and northwestern Columbus Counties
through 500 PM EDT...
At 437 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Fair Bluff, or 15 miles west of Whiteville, moving northeast at 25
mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Chadbourn, Bladenboro, Fair Bluff, Boardman, Abbottsburg, Butters,
Barnesville, Evergreen, Cerro Gordo and Orrum.
This includes US Route 74 between mile markers 368 and 386.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
