* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
tomorrow evening to a crest of 22.5 feet Sunday morning. It will
then fall below flood stage early Monday afternoon.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet, Flood waters spread over fields to a
distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several county roads, mainly
along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live
along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience
water entering their homes at basement levels.

this morning to a crest of 35.2 feet this evening. It will then
fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 35.0 feet, Highway 39 east of Chanute near the river
bridge floods to a depth of about 1 foot and 3/4 of a mile long.
Grady Road along the river which is northeast of Chanute floods.
Considerable flooding occurs across old Highway 169.

* Major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
this morning to a crest of 39.6 feet just after midnight tonight.
It will then fall below flood stage late Monday morning.
* Impact...At 40.0 feet, There is a high possibility that parts of
the levee may be breached. Extensive flooding covers Highway 59
from Erie to the river bridge then again south of the river
bridge. Farmlands become inundated. Major flooding occurs on the
west side of Erie. From 1 block east of Highway 59 in town between
4th Street to just north of State Street, roads flood and
approximately 10 homes and 5 businesses take on 4 feet of water.
