  Counties.

For the West Fork San Jacinto River...including Sendera Ranch Road, 
Conroe, Porter, Humble, Sheldon...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons with interests along these streams should keep alert to 
rising water and take all precautions to protect their property. Do 
not drive or walk into flooded areas the depth and water velocity 
could be too great for you to cross safely. Motorists should avoid 
any water covered roads and find an alternate route. Livestock and 
equipment should be removed from the flood plain immediately. Stay

inland terminals. MVFR to IFR conditions return tonight ahead of
the next cold front expected to arrive after midnight. 05

.PREV DISCUSSION /Issued 449 AM CDT Mon May 3 2021/...

.SHORT TERM [Through Tuesday]...

Widespread stratus and warm conditions to start off the workweek.
Strong southerly flow and theta-e advection will continue to
surge warm and moist Gulf air into the region early this morning.
Some clearing of clouds and surface heating are expected later
this morning/early afternoon, mainly across our half northern
counties (north of I-10). With 850 hPa temperatures in the 20-25 C
range and sfc dewpoints in the low 70s, it is going to be a very
warm and muggy day. Highs will generally be in the upper 80s to
low 90s. Have the coldest readings south of I-10, with cloud cover
mitigating direct sunlight. Heat index values could reach the
upper 90s this afternoon.

Upper level trough, currently over the Texas Panhandle, will move
eastward into the region today. This low will drag a dryline over
central TX and eventually a cold front across our region
overnight. Have added some storm chances for this evening ahead of
the dryline. Some CAMS/Hi-Res models, including the TTU-WRF are
picking up on isolated to scattered activity developing west of a
College Station to Columbus line. Capping will be moderate to
strong, but with steep mid-level lapse rates and decent shear,
cannot argue this possible development.

Better storm and rain chances arrive later tonight, along and
ahead the FROPA. Have leaned towards the NAM/HRRR/TTU-WRF for the
front timing and PoPs. The front is progged to move over the
Brazos Valley after midnight, then moving across the Houston area
by mid-late morning, and at the coast early in the afternoon. With
decent instability, mainly at mid-levels, thunderstorms are
expected ahead and along the boundary. While severe weather looks
marginal, an isolated strong storm or two will be possible with
gusty winds as the main risk given a dry sub-cloud layer. Better
instability axis will be across our north/northeastern counties.

.LONG TERM [Tuesday Night Through Monday]...

Tuesday evening the cold front should be pushing through the
coastal waters with high pressure building in across the region
and drying out. This will be a Pacific cold front so don't get
your hopes up for a real cool down...but yes after the heat today
and Tuesday it will be a pleasant change. The nights Wed and Thu
should be very pleasant. Northeasterly winds will be likely post-
frontal for a few days. A reinforcing cold front is right on it's
heels and should arrive after the Cinco de Mayo celebrations late
Wednesday night or more likely Thursday morning with a Canadian
cold front dropping down through the Plains but we only get
clipped by this one early Friday. Rainfree and dry describes
Wednesday through Friday. The quickly modifying Canadian high
slips down into the NE Gulf/FL area and this will end the dry
weather for us as moisture piling up over the Southern Gulf
finally gets squirted back to the north Friday afternoon into
SETX. Rain chances increase this weekend as a surface low ejects
out into the Central Plains Saturday and the subtropical jet arcs
in over S TX. Stout southerly flow will make for a warm, breezy
and humid weekend with low end rain chances. A fairly deep upper
level trough should be dropping down into Srn CA/AZ by Tuesday
afternoon which should bring SETX continued warm weather into
middle of next week.

Mother's day forecast ...hint hint... Sunday should start off in
the mid 70s warming up into the 85-90 degree range in the
afternoon and breezy. Only a slight chance for showers or
thunderstorms mainly in the late morning/afternoon with quite a
few clouds. Lower 80s on the evening patio. Just saying all in all
a pleasant spring day in SETX.

Moderate southerly flow this morning gradually weakening this
afternoon. Slightly stronger over the western waters so have
hoisted a short term SCA there but by late morning seas and winds
should be gradually stepping down. Strong rip currents today
should be weakening early Tuesday. Onshore flow continues until
Tuesday with the arrival of a cold front swinging winds around to
the north and becoming gusty. Scattered showers and thunderstorms
should accompany the initial cold front. SCA conditions should
prevail after the FROPA and may persist into midweek with a series
of reinforcing cold fronts. 45
