This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop across
the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia today, with the greatest
coverage during the afternoon and early evening hours. The
thunderstorms will have the potential to produce torrential
downpours in affected areas and localized flooding may develop in
any locations that see repeated thunderstorms in a short period of
time. The thunderstorms will also produce dangerous cloud-to-ground
lightning and gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CABARRUS...EASTERN
DAVIE AND EASTERN ROWAN COUNTIES UNTIL 845 PM EDT...

At 813 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a
line extending from 10 miles southwest of Winston-Salem to near
Salisbury to 8 miles east of Downtown Concord, and moving east at 15
mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Salisbury, Mocksville, Spencer, Granite Quarry, Rockwell, Mt
Pleasant, Bermuda Run, Cooleemee, Faith and High Rock Lake.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches
per hour will be possible in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The combination of gusty winds and saturated soil conditions will
cause scattered trees and power lines to fall. Seek shelter inside an
interior room.
