North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely again this afternoon
and evening. The main impacts that can be expected are cloud-to-
ground lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours. Localized
flooding is possible with any storms that produce high rainfall
rates.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

...A THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN
HENDERSON AND SOUTH CENTRAL BUNCOMBE COUNTIES UNTIL 200 PM EDT...

At 138 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with
torrential rainfall 10 miles northwest of Hendersonville, or near
Asheville Airport, moving east at 10 mph.

Locations to be impacted include... Arden, Mills River, Fletcher,
Mountain Home, Blue Ridge Parkway between Mount Pisgah and The NC
Arboretum, Asheville Airport, Skyland, Bent Creek, and Biltmore
Forest.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The combination of gusty winds and saturated soil conditions will
cause scattered trees and power lines to fall. Seek shelter inside an
interior room.

NORTHEASTERN BUNCOMBE AND SOUTHERN YANCEY COUNTIES UNTIL 245 PM
EDT...

At 218 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles north of Downtown Asheville, or 4 miles northeast of
Weaverville, moving northeast at 15 mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Burnsville, Weaverville, B.R. Parkway-East Asheville To Craggy
Gardens, Mount Mitchell State Park, Mars Hill, B.R. Parkway-Craggy To
Little Switzerland, Busick, Barnardsville, Flat Creek and Swiss.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail will be possible in these
areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Gusty winds can blow down trees that are dead, or that have weakened
root systems. Outdoor furniture and similar items can be tossed
around if not anchored. Seek shelter indoors.
