This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Heavy rainfall is expected across the western Carolinas and
northeast Georgia today. Localized flooding of streams and poor
drainage areas is possible, especially along the south-facing slopes
of the extreme southern Appalachians. Minor flooding of main stem
rivers also cannot be ruled out, especially the headwaters area of
the French Broad River.

At 100 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of an area
of heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms along a line extending
from 7 miles southwest of Columbus to 6 miles southwest of
Danielsville, and moving northeast at 30 mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Greenville Downtown, Anderson, Easley, Clemson, Elberton, Hartwell,
Columbus, Spartanburg, Greenville Eastside and West Greenville.

Very heavy rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour will be possible
in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
