  North central Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 300 PM EDT.

* At 222 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles west of
  Lenoir, or 6 miles northeast of Table Rock, moving east at 10 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind 
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Gamewell, Collettsville, Cajah's Mountain, Table Rock, Edgemont and
  Lenoir.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Brief damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines over small
