the French Broad River At Blantyre.
* From this evening to Monday afternoon.
* At 9:16 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 17.3 feet.
* Action stage is 15.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 9:16 AM EDT Sunday was 19.3 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just
after midnight tonight and continue falling to 9.6 feet Friday
morning.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet, Minor Flooding continues. Floodwaters
continue to inundate farmland between the French Broad River and
the railroad tracks. Floodwaters may start to inundate the
shoulders of River Road near the Big Willow Road intersection.
Floodwaters continue to impact boat access areas at Grove Bridge
Rd. and Crab Creek Rd.

DRY AND COOL HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN FROM THE WEST TONIGHT AND
SHOULD BE MOVING OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST MONDAY NIGHT AND
TUESDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN TO NORMAL. MORE UNSETTLED
WEATHER LOOKS TO BE IN STORE FOR THE REGION BY THE MIDDLE OF THE
WEEK AS ANOTHER STRONG COLD FRONT REACHES OUR REGION FROM THE
NORTHWEST. AFTER THAT COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT,
EXPECT SOME UNSEASONABLY COOL WEATHER FOR THE END OF THE WEEK.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH MONDAY/...
AS OF 750 PM: COLD FRONT CURRENTLY EXTENDS ROUGHLY ALONG THE I-85
CORRIDOR. A NARROW BAND OF SHOWERS DEVELOPED ALONG THE BOUNDARY OVER
THE PAST 1-2 HOURS, AND WILL SAG ACROSS THE SOUTHERN NC AND EASTERN
SC PIEDMONT OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO, WARRANTING SOLID CHANCE TO
EVEN LIKELY POPS THERE DURING THAT TIME. SHOWERS APPEAR TO BE MIXING
DOWN SOME HEALTHY MOMENTUM FROM ALOFT, WITH BRIEF 35 TO 45 MPH GUSTS
POSSIBLE FROM THE W/NW BEFORE LESS GUSTY GRADIENT WINDS SETTLE IN.
OTHERWISE, WINDS WILL REMAIN GUSTY IN MOST AREAS AS HIPRES BUILDS IN
TONIGHT AND THE MEAN H85 FLOW ON THE LATEST HREF INDICATES 50+ KTS
ACROSS THE NRN MTNS THRU 06Z. SO THE WIND ADVISORY STILL LOOKS GOOD
THERE. THE PRESSURE GRADIENT BEGINS TO LOOSEN OVERNIGHT, BUT WINDS
WILL REMAIN ELEVATED ENUF TO OFFSET ANY FOG THREAT THRU DAYBREAK.
WINDS WILL ALSO KEEP THE SFC-LAYER MIXED AND HOLD MIN TEMPS UP A FEW
DEGREES FROM NORMAL EVEN WITH MODEST LLVL CAA KICKING IN. MAX TEMPS
ON MON WILL BE TRICKY, BUT GENERALLY EXPECT HIGHS A COUPLE DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL WITH A CP AIRMASS CONTINUING TO BUILD IN, YET VERY GOOD
