Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to form over the Rio Grande Plains this evening and move eastward. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out west of a Rocksprings to Eagle Pass line this evening. Locally heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding is also possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible this week. Thunderstorms could be strong to severe at times. Locally heavy rainfall and flooding are also of a concern, especially Tuesday and Wednesday, with a flash flooding threat increasing for areas along and east of the I-35 corridor. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters are encouraged to report severe weather and/or flash flooding to the National Weather Service.

At 236 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Spring Branch, or 11 miles northwest of Canyon Lake Dam, moving northeast at 15 mph. Nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Wimberley, Canyon Lake Dam, Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Fischer and Guadalupe River State Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. At 315 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Kingsbury to near Flatonia to near
Fayetteville. Movement was southwest at 20 mph.
Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Seguin, Gonzales, Luling, La Grange, Schulenburg, Shiner, Flatonia,
Moulton, Shelby, Waelder, Kingsbury, Staples, Fayetteville, Round
Top, Fentress, Palmeto State Park, Muldoon, Cistern, Brownsboro and
Carmine.
