This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A heat advisory is in effect for far northeast Missouri, parts of
far southeast Iowa and west central Illinois for this afternoon
into the early evening. Heat indices of 100 to 105 are expected.

There is a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms south of a Sterling
Rock Falls to the Quad Cities to Fairfield Iowa line with a
Marginal Risk of severe storms to the south. The primary threat is
damaging winds and heavy rain.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of Van Buren and
southwestern Jefferson Counties through 1000 AM CDT...

At 909 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Leando, or 9 miles northwest of Keosauqua, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

This strong thunderstorm will be near...
  Birmingham around 920 AM CDT.
  Keosauqua around 925 AM CDT.

Other locations in the path of this storm include Stockport,
Bentonsport/Vernon and Bonaparte.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

...A strong complex of thunderstorm producing torrential rainfall
will impact portions of northern Hancock, southern Henderson,
southern Warren, McDonough, southern Henry, southwestern Des Moines,
Van Buren, southern Jefferson, Lee, northeastern Scotland and Clark
Counties through 1130 AM CDT...

At 953 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong complex of
thunderstorm near Niota, or near Fort Madison, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

This strong thunderstorms will be near...  Dallas City and Colusa
around 1005 AM CDT.

Other locations in the path of this storm include Carman, Disco, La
Harpe, Terre Haute, Stronghurst, Blandinsville, Raritan, Sciota,
Roseville and Good Hope.
