There are no current changes to the Winter Storm Warnings and
Winter Weather Advisories. The headlines will remain in effect
today until 5 PM MST due to heavy snow along a cold front.
Temperatures today will be much cooler than they have been the
last few days with our highs in a mere 30s and low 40s (if you're
lucky) and lows tonight in the teens and 20s with the coldest
temperatures to the north and west. This low strengthened very
quickly and is dropping higher snowfall amounts than we were
initially forecasting, but because the temperatures were so warm
yesterday and are still relatively warm, the actual accumulation
amounts are hard to forecast. The snow looks like it will taper
off south to north throughout the late morning today. The heaviest
snowfall for the northern parts of our CWA will be early morning
Wednesday until the afternoon.

Thursday and Friday, parts of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska
panhandle may see some light snowfall throughout the day. It
likely will not be more than an inch to an inch and a half of snow
from leftover, lingering moisture and a weak disturbance crossing
through our CWA. Higher elevations, especially the mountains may
see more snow as the main flow is light and westerly.
This weekend is still very uncertain, but it cannot be overlooked
that the majority of models have been trending stronger with each
run. This upper level low looks like it will be strong and slow
moving, increasing our confidence for a significant weather event.
As the upper level low moves north then slowly east, it's able to
bring in the moisture it needs from the Gulf and the orographic
lift necessary to produce a widespread, long-lasting snowfall
event primarily for the Laramie Range and areas eastward. In
addition to the snow, due to the strong upper-level jet passing
southeast of our CWA, we can also likely expect elevated winds,
creating a deadly combination of widespread moderate to heavy
snowfall and blowing snow. It is not recommended at this time that
anyone make any travel plans around southeast Wyoming or the
Nebraska panhandle. If you have to travel, check the forecast and
road conditions before traveling.
The low should be moved out of the region by Monday morning. It's
probably not what anyone wants to hear, but it looks like another
weak trough follows this strong storm bringing more (much lighter)
snowfall chances to southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle.

MVFR-IFR CIG/VIS in snow and fog will improve from southwest to
northeast along and east of I-25 today as the low pressure system
over eastern Colorado shifts to the east. There may be brief MVFR
CIG/VIS at KRWL and KLAR until 15Z, otherwise VFR will prevail. KCDR
will be the last to improve with MVFR CIG/VIS through late afternoon.
Gusty northeast to easterly winds this morning will become westerly
this afternoon for Southeast Wyoming, while lighter northwesterly
winds prevail for the Nebraska Panhandle. VFR with variable to light
westerly winds are forecast after 00Z.

Wyoming and Nebraska panhandle set to get accumulating snow. Two
systems set to impact the area. The first last night into today with
snow that developed along a cold front in central Wyoming that
spread southeast through the overnight hours last night. Snow most
of the day today before ending from north to south. Dry
Thursday...but then a Colorado Low moves into eastern Colorado
Friday and slowly moves through the weekend. We will be on the cold
