.AVIATION...
VFR conditions continue from ALI and points west, while CRP and
VCT are already IFR. Expect all ceilings will drop to IFR/LIFR
through the night and into Wednesday morning. Patchy fog is
expected to develop through tonight, reducing visibility at ALI,
CRP and VCT to MVFR/IFR. A cold front will push through South
Texas early Wednesday morning, with winds becoming north to
northeast and gusting to near 30 knots. Showers and thunderstorms
will be possible, though with low confidence on thunderstorms,
have left this out of the TAFs. Conditions will be slow to improve
behind the front, with MVFR/IFR conditions continuing through most
of the TAF period.

AVIATION...
Current VFR conditions are expected to deteriorate to MVFR/IFR
levels later this evening and overnight across all terminals. The
worst conditions are anticipated at ALI/CRP/VCT terminals, with
possible LIFR conditions to develop by early Wednesday morning.
Patchy to areas of fog will also be possible across the eastern
sites overnight. Gusty winds early this evening are expected to
decouple overnight, with winds becoming light and variable. A
cold front will move through the region Wednesday morning to the
early afternoon hours, leading to strong north to northeasterly
winds to develop behind it with gusts to 30 kts or more possible.
In addition, isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible
ahead and along the boundary, but confidence in location is not
high enough at this time to be included in the TAFs. MVFR
conditions are likely to persist behind the front Wednesday
afternoon and through the end of the cycle.

SHORT TERM (Tonight through Wednesday Night)...
A mid level trough to the west will continue digging and pushing
to the east over the next couple of days. The trough will pass
north of our area tomorrow bringing a fairly robust cold front
through. Ahead of the front, moisture will continue to pool into
the region. Skies that have cleared for a large part of the area
this afternoon will become overcast again tonight as temperatures
cool. Dewpoints have increased to the lower 70s along the coast
and this should be sufficient for sea fog development overnight.
Unsure on for potential inland as most guidance does not indicate
it, but a few do. Thinking it's more likely a low stratus deck due
to the depth of the moist layer.
Frontal timing has been fairly consistent today, expecting the
front to move into northern areas around mid-day and progress
southward. Have warmed up temps ahead of the front with highs in
the lower 80s possible south assuming much of the day to heat up.
Will see a sharp drop in temps as the front pushes through in the
early afternoon hours with a quick drop into the 60s expected.
Northerly winds will quickly become gusty as well. Winds will
approach wind advisory criteria along coastal counties, but not
enough confidence in it reaching criteria to issue an advy at this
time. Isolated to scattered showers are expected along the
front, but instability remains limited this far south, so thunder
chances are low (but can't be ruled out entirely). Some light
showers will remain possible behind the front, but still only a
20% chance. Will dry out by the evening with temperatures cooling
overnight. Leaned toward MET guidance overnight with lows into the
40s north to around 50 south. Should keep some cloud cover to
keep the temps from dropping more than that despite the strong
cold advection.
Tides early Wednesday morning will approach 2ft MSL. It will be
close enough that an advy decision will likely be made at the last
minute, or at least after the next minor high tide cycle this
afternoon.
LONG TERM (Thursday through Tuesday)...
Quiet weather will finish off the work week as a mid-upper level
ridge moves into the region. This ridging pattern will persist into
Saturday ahead of a series of weak mid-level shortwave disturbances
progged to move across the state over the course of the weekend.
Surface high pressure will shift east out of the state, allowing
winds to become onshore and bring moisture into the area ahead of
these disturbances. Models currently suggest PWAT values around 1.3-
1.4 inches on Saturday, so have a slight chance of PoPs in for
Saturday morning. Chance of precipitation is highest for areas in
the western portion of the CWA where moisture return and lifting is
the greatest. Not expecting any convective activity at this time. A
slight chance of PoPs exists for areas along the coast and into the
Victoria Crossroads on Sunday ahead of the next frontal boundary.
PWAT values will be around the 75th percentile, making isolated
showers possible for this area. The frontal boundary should push
offshore overnight Monday night with high pressure moving in from
behind the boundary on Tuesday.
Highs on Thursday are expected to be in the 60s, warming into the
70s on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will continue a warming
trend over the weekend and early next week with highs in the 80s to
lower 90s by the end of the period. Lows will be cooler at the start
of the period, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. By the end of
the period lows will be in the 60s to near 70.
Coastal flooding is possible later this week, particularly Thursday
and Friday. P-ETSS guidance is forecasting tides to be just above 2
feet MSL, maxing out at 2.2 ft MSL which could lead to minor coastal
flooding.
MARINE...
Weak to moderate onshore flow will continue tonight into Wednesday
morning. Patchy to areas of sea fog will be possible along the
coast. A strong cold front will push through Wednesday afternoon
with gale force north to northeasterly winds developing behind
it.Strong to near gale force winds will continue into early
Thursday morning. Winds will shift to the east and decrease late
Thursday, however seas will remain high over the offshore waters,
up to 13 feet. We will see Small Craft Advisory conditions
possibly end for the nearshore waters late overnight Thursday
night, with offshore following Friday afternoon as seas finally
subside below 7 feet. A weak to moderate onshore flow is expected
by Thursday night, continuing through the weekend. Small Craft
Exercise Caution conditions may return over the offshore waters
Saturday before decreasing to weak to moderate flow Sunday.
