SOUTHWESTERN ERIE AND CHAUTAUQUA COUNTIES... At 622 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Long Point State Park, or 7 miles north of Jamestown, moving northeast at 25 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Jamestown, Dunkirk, Fredonia, Westfield, Gowanda, Silver Creek, Falconer, Mayville, Long Point State Park, Jamestown West, Lake Erie State Park, SUNY Fredonia, Frewsburg, Evangola State Park, Portland, Sheridan, Stockton, New Albion, Gerry and Dayton. This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 between exits 60 and 58. Interstate 86 between exits 10 and 15. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
