MORNING...

* WHAT...Light freezing drizzle expected. Total ice accumulations
  of a light glaze.

* WHERE...Jim Hogg, Brooks, Inland Kenedy and Coastal Kenedy 
  County.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM today.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The cold wind chills
  as low as 20 degrees could result in hypothermia if precautions
  are not taken. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow
around. Use caution when traveling, especially in open areas. The

.AVIATION...Mainly MVFR conditions expected during the next 24
hours. This is the result of STC-OVC lower cloud ceilings between
FL005-020 at all three TAF locations. Winds will remain generally
light from the north through 17/089Z, increasing to 10-15 knots
and turning from the north-northeast thereafter.

SHORT TERM (Tonight through Wednesday Night): Mostly cloudy
skies are expected to prevail overnight tonight as an inverted
area of low pressure develops offshore of the Texas Coastal Bend,
with precipitation in the form of rain expected to develop in
association to this feature. At this time, the bulk of the rain is
expected to remain offshore with some showers possibly affecting
coastal areas. Temperatures overnight tonight are expected to
remain above freezing as the cloud deck will limit in sort of
radiational cooling, but falling into the lower 30s across the
ranchlands. As the area of low pressure lifts northeastward,
improving weather conditions are expected for Wednesday with
clouds expected to diminish in coverage with more sun expected.
This should help temperatures warm, but a prevailing northerly
flow will keep daytime highs into the lower 50s across most of
Deep South Texas during the afternoon hours.

Another surge of very cold air is expected to move across the area
on Wednesday night as another artic high pressure moves southward
into Texas. This will cause temperatures to drop near freezing
across the northern zones.

LONG TERM (Thursday through Monday):

Cold air advection is expected to prevail for Thursday with high
temperatures expected to only reach the 50s under a northerly
flow. Another more widespread freeze is still on tap on Thursday
night into early Friday morning as clear skies and light winds
will cause temperatures to drop below freezing. Then, as high
pressure moves east of the area during the day on Friday and into
the upcoming weekend, temperatures will be moderating under a
southerly flow. In fact, high temperatures during the weekend may
climb into the 70s. Mainly dry conditions should prevail through
the long term period.

MARINE: Tranquil marine conditions expected for the Laguna Madre
waters. Elsewhere across the Gulf of Mexico waters, choppy marine
conditions due to winds up to 20 knots will require small craft
operators to exercise caution tonight into Wednesday. Increasing
winds due to the passage of another cold front Wednesday night
into Thursday will cause seas to turn hazardous, with the chance
to meet Small Craft Criteria.
