The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Lee County in east central Alabama...
  Northern Russell County in southeastern Alabama...

* Until 630 PM CDT.

* At 321 PM CDT, Doppler radar continued to indicate thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the area. Between 2 and 4 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring 
  in several locations, including Phenix City.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Auburn, Phenix City, Smiths, Smiths Station, Griffen Mill, 
  Bleecker, Ladonia, Beauregard, Uchee, Parkmanville, Monterey 
  Heights, Ladonia Sports Complex, Phenix Drag Strip and Marvyn.
