.SHORT TERM...(Tonight through Thursday)
Issued at 205 PM CDT Tue Jun 8 2021

Frontal boundary/outflow from morning MCS hovering across central
MN/northern WI while Closed low was still pinwheeling across
MO/western IL. These two features will be the focus for
shower/thunderstorm chances remainder of this afternoon into this
evening. Mid-level stretching deformation from that closed low could
swing a few showers/storms in across southern forecast area (south
of I-90) while that boundary up north acts as a focus for some
convection on our northern fringes. Shear is rather weak, so
expecting sub-severe airmass/pulse type storms at this point with
heavy downpours given precipitable water values around 1.5 inches.
Otherwise, another anomalously warm and humid day with temperatures
at 2 pm in the mid-80s to lower 90s. Dew points were hovering in the
60s to near 70.

Expecting any convection to simmer down later this evening with
sunset/loss of surface heating. Look for overnight lows in the mid-
upper 60s.

Heat continues through Thursday with highs again in the mid-
80s/lower 90s. Could see afternoon shower/thunder chances as well
but again expecting these storms to be the airmass/sub-severe type
with localized heavy rainfall.

.LONG TERM...(Friday through Monday)

Some relief from the anomalous heat comes Friday night as a cold
front pushes through the region and upper level pattern transitions
to more of a northwesterly flow through the weekend. Shower/storm
chances continue into Saturday but then drier air moves in with the
northwest flow Sunday through Tuesday. Right now, looks like highs
Friday will be in the mid-80s/lower 90s pre-frontal, cooling into
the upper 70s to mid-80s Saturday through Tuesday along with dew
points drying into the upper 40s to mid 50s.

.AVIATION...(For the 00Z TAFS through 00Z Wednesday evening)
Issued at 627 PM CDT Tue Jun 8 2021

Isolated thunderstorms are in the vicinity of KLSE through about
01Z. Will be monitoring radar as the activity is near the 5 nm
boundary to include into the TAF.

Otherwise, VFR conditions are expected with a very small chance of
VCTS Wednesday afternoon...not a high enough chance to include in
the TAFs.

At 446 PM CDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Blair, or 8
miles southeast of Whitehall. The storm is nearly stationary.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Blair, Franklin, Taylor, Highway 95 And County D, Beach Corners and
Hegg.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN TAYLOR COUNTY...

At 632 PM CDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 miles west of
Westboro, or 17 miles northwest of Medford. The storm is nearly
stationary.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and penny size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
North Twin Lake, The Mondeaux Flowage and County Roads D And N.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
