  including the following areas, in New York, Montgomery, Northern 
  Saratoga, Southeast Warren and Southern Washington. In southern 
  Vermont, Bennington, Eastern Windham and Western Windham.

* From 8 PM EDT this evening through Monday morning.

* A widespread rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is forecast in association 
  with Henri with localized higher amounts up to 10 inches possible 
  especially across the higher terrain.

* Rapid rises could occur on smaller streams and creeks with urban 
  flooding particularly in poor-drainage and low lying areas.

.SYNOPSIS...
Humid conditions will persist today with temperatures turning
warmer than previous days due to breaks of sunshine. A few
showers and afternoon thunderstorms may form with any storm
capable of heavy downpours. Confidence is growing that Tropical
Storm Henri will impact the region tomorrow into Monday with
heavy rain and gusty winds the primary concerns, especially for
western New England and areas east of the Hudson River.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM THIS MORNING/...
A muggy night remains in place with dew points through the
region still in the mid 60s to low 70s. With our upper level
disturbance still in place over the mid-Atlantic, southeasterly
flow coming in off the Atlantic has persisted in the lower and
mid - Hudson Valley. Then, areas north of I-90 are feeling the
effects of the closed high in place over southern Canada with
east to northeasterly flow in place. These two different wind
regimes has focused moisture along I-90, especially in the
eastern Catskill, where showers are developing and becoming
enhanced as the easterly winds flow up the topography. NYS
mesonet observations suggest showers in Schoharie, Greene and
parts of Ulster County have already produced 0.25 - 0.50 inch of
rain over the last 3 - 6 hours so these showers are producing
decent rainfall. High res guidance shows the region of
convergence in the eastern Catskills will lift northwestward
through sunrise so we reduced POPs of chance to slight chance
through 12 UTC. However, we expanded the slight chance POPs into
the Mohawk Valley and southern Adirondacks in line with where
the convergence zone tracks.

Otherwise, the forecast is on track with temperatures changing
very little overnight and staying in the upper 60s to low 70s due
to humid conditions and ongoing cloud coverage. Fog has held
off as well due to the cloud coverage.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM THIS MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Closed upper level low will remain situated over the mid
Atlantic states for Saturday into Saturday night. Meanwhile,
sharp upper level ridging will be stretching from the western
Atlantic towards eastern and northern New England. With our area
between these two features, we may see a few afternoon showers
or t-storms that develop on Saturday. Otherwise, it looks partly
to mostly cloudy and continued fairly muggy. With the humid
conditions in place, any shower could have a brief heavy
downpour, but coverage looks fairly low. There should be more
breaks of sun on Saturday compared to Friday, so afternoon temps
should reach the mid 80s for most valley areas (upper 70s to low
80s in the high terrain). Dewpoints will remain very high near
70. Although most of the diurnal convection should dissipate,
can't still rule out a lingering shower or t-storm in Saturday
night. Otherwise, it will be partly to mostly cloudy with lows
near 70.

The attention for Sunday into Sunday night will be for Tropical
Storm Henri, which is expected to reach Hurricane status while
moving northward offshore the mid Atlantic states. It will be
lifting northward towards eastern Long Island and southern New
England for during the day on Sunday, before weakening and
lifting close to area for Sunday night. Recent model guidance
from during the day today has shifted westward with the track
and there is good consensus among both the operational model
guidance and the hurricane models for a landfall across Long
Island/southern New England. The storm looks to get captured
westward thanks to the large upper level low over the mid
Atlantic, as the ridge offshore will prevent this storms from
hooking out to sea like they typically do.

As a result, we are now expecting a period of heavy rainfall for
during the day Sunday into Sunday night, especially for areas
east of the Hudson Valley. At this point, heavy rainfall looks
to be the main impact. The current forecast for wind gusts stays
generally below tropical storm force in our area, with gusts up
to 30 mph (mainly for the higher terrain), although this could
be subject to change based on any changes in the storm intensity
and track forecast. However, rainfall amounts could be at least
several inches, with perhaps greater than 5 inches locally
possible for parts of western New England. This could cause some
issues with both flash flooding and river flooding for some
eastern parts of the area. With dewpoints remaining near 70,
high temps should be in the upper 70s with lows near 70 for
Sunday night.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Guidance and the latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center
suggest that Henri may be positioned close enough to the area on
Monday for continued impacts, mostly rainfall. The actual track of
Henri remains quite uncertain and that will determine what intensity
of rain is expected. The latest guidance is trending farther west in
the track, which could further lengthen our impacts and increase
potential for moderate to heavy rainfall for at least parts of the
area. But additional shifts west or maybe even east remain possible
in the coming days. Will continue to monitor trends of Henri over
the coming days. Otherwise, it will be a rather cloudy and humid day
with highs in the 70s to lower 80s.

Henri should begin to depart Monday night into Tuesday with a
gradual drying trend as upper-level ridging builds overhead. Lows
Monday night will be mainly in the 60s with highs Tuesday rebounding
into the upper 70s to upper 80s. Slight upper-level height falls are
expected on Wednesday, but the lack of any upper-level forcing
should lead to another mainly dry day with only an isolated shower
or thunderstorm possible due to the continued warm and humid air
mass. Highs on Wednesday once again in the upper 70s to upper 80s.

Next upper-level trough and surface front approaches Thursday into
Friday with the return of more widespread showers and thunderstorms.
Guidance differs on the timing of the front, however, with the GFS
faster than the ECMWF. For now will place chance pops for both
Thursday and Friday. Still warm Thursday with highs in the upper 70s
to upper 80s but slightly cooler Friday with highs in the 70s to
lower 80s.

.AVIATION /06Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Main weather concerns for the ALY terminals and aviation
operations over the next 6-9 hours will be VCSH trends and low
stratus/fog/most potential.

As of 1:30 AM EDT, doppler radar indicated light to moderate showers
over the forecast area with most of the activity concentrated over
Schoharie and points westward. VCSH over the TAF sites should
gradually wane over the next few hours.

Despite the broken to overcast cloud deck, ample low level moisture
and light to calm winds could help promote low stratus, fog, or mist
development overnight. KPOU as of this update is already
experiencing low stratus, while PSF is experiencing some mist. Have
included TEMPOs for the TAF sites through 12z.

By 13z or so, any mist, fog, or low stratus should scour out giving
way to a return to VFR conditions. By the early afternoon hours on
Saturday, another round of light rain. Have included Prob30s for
this possibility.

Winds are expected to remain light and variable through the TAF
period.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Humid and mainly cloudy conditions are expected overnight with
RH near 100 percent and some patchy fog. RH values will only
lower to around 70 percent on Saturday with a few spotty showers
and thunderstorms. Light and variable winds are expected
tonight, with southeast winds of 5 mph or less for Saturday.
Humid conditions will continue for Sunday into Monday with the
approach of Tropical Storm Henri. Heavy rainfall may impact
parts of eastern New York and western New England with several
inches of rainfall for some areas.

.HYDROLOGY...
Flooding is still ongoing across the reservoirs of the upper
Mohawk River, including Delta Lake and Hinckley, thanks to the
recent heavy rainfall due to the remnants of what was once TC
Fred. While these levels should be slowly falling, they will
continue to remain flood stage through at least midday
tomorrow.

Otherwise, a few passing showers and t-storms are expected for
tonight into Saturday. While a localized downpour can't be ruled
out thanks to the very humid air mass in place, coverage of
precip will be fairly scattered and basin average precip amounts
should be low.

For Sunday into Monday, Tropical Storm Henri will be moving
towards southern New England and lifting north-northwest while
weakening. Periods of heavy rainfall are now expected to impact
the ALY HSA, especially for areas east of the Hudson Valley. The
heaviest rainfall looks to occur from Sunday afternoon into
Sunday night.  Rainfall rates may exceed one inch per hour at
times and total precip amounts will be 1 to 3 inches across
eastern New York and 2 to 5 inches across western New England.
Some locally higher totals can't be ruled out, especially across
the Berkshires. There is a moderate threat for flash flooding
across far eastern parts of the area and river flooding may be a
concern as well, especially for the Housatonic River. As the
storm's track comes into better focus over the next day or so,
the extent/impacts of heavy rain will also become more clear as
well.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected on Saturday
afternoon. With a humid air mass in place, locally heavy downpours
cannot be ruled out with any shower or thunderstorm, which may result
in ponding of water in urban and low lying areas.

Tropical Storm Henri will be impacting the region for Sunday into
Monday. Periods of heavy rainfall are expected for parts of the area,
especially for locations east of the Hudson Valley. A Flood Watch or
Flash Flood Watch will likely be needed for parts of the area. Gusty
winds cannot be ruled out, especially for eastern areas. Please
refer to the products from the National Hurricane Center for the
latest track and intensity forecast for Henri.
