EAST CENTRAL SURRY AND SOUTHEASTERN JAMES CITY COUNTIES...THE CITY OF
HAMPTON AND THE CITY OF NEWPORT NEWS...

At 408 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located just northwest of
Smithfield, moving east northeast at 25 mph.

Wind gusts up to 45 mph and penny size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Newport News, Smithfield, Christopher Newport University, Lee Hall,
Denbigh, Beaconsdale, Fort Eustis, Rushmere, Oriana, Bethel Church,
Lawson, Comet, Poolesville, Moonlight, Oyster Point, Mogarts Beach,
Menchville and Newport News Golf Course.

indoors immediately. If you cannot find shelter in a building a
vehicle provides safety from lightning.
