the area late today. Some storms may be strong to severe. Damaging
wind gusts and large hail will be the main threats, but a tornado or
two cannot be ruled out.

Dense fog has developed across northeastern North Carolina and the
Virginia Tidewater early this morning. Visibility will continue
to range between one quarter to one half mile. Motorists should be
alert for rapidly changing conditions. Slow down, allow extra
time to reach your destination, and use low-beam headlights only.

At 725 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered near Rich Square,
moving east at 40 mph.

Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with
these storms. In addition...Rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch are
possible with these storms.
