A weak but dry frontal boundary will push inland from the coast today then slowly dissipate over the area Friday. Otherwise, high pressure dominates the local area through the weekend. && .NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... As of 150 PM EDT Thursday... Temps as of 1:50 PM were generally in the mid to upper 80s inland, upper 70s to around 80F near the coast, and upper 60s to mid 70s along the Atlantic coast of the Eastern Shore. Latest MSAS has a 1031 mb high over SW VA with anther area of high pressure over northern New England. In between, a weak but dry frontal boundary has moved onshore over the Eastern Shore. Models take the high over Va and begin to slightly retrograde it to the wsw this afternoon while the high over New England remains nearly stationary. This minor change in synoptic features will allow the frontal boundary to push inland today, possibly making it to the I95 corridor later this afternoon. With no significant weather, this boundary will basically act like a stronger than average sea breeze boundary as it pushes inland. Thus, it will be a temp forecast with much cooler readings along the coast due to the onshore wind flow as water temps are between 60-65. Expect a contrast of two seasons today with summer like readings in the upper 80s inland, lower 80s invof the Ches Bay and over inland portions of the Eastern Shore, and lower 70s at the Atlantic beaches of the Eastern Shore. Light/variable winds over the Piedmont with easterly winds along the coast at 10-15 mph. Mostly clr tonight with the frontal boundary beginning to wash out across the Piedmont late. There could be some patchy fog development given the light onshore flow, but will hold off attm since guidance is not that bullish on any widespread fog development.
