A cold front associated with the sfc low Sat morning will gradually
push south through the day Sat with a wind shift to NW/N behind the
front. Partly cloudy N and partly to mostly cloudy S with highs in

As of 405 PM EST Friday...
Cloudy early Sat night with cloud cover diminishing through the
night and lows in the lower 30s N and lower 40s S. High pressure
centers over the Northeast Sun, resulting in an in-situ wedge due to
ENE winds. Uncertainty exists regarding the extend of CAD with the
NAM much cooler (as is typically the case). For now, have trended
towards the GFS with highs in the upper 40s to around 50F NW and
upper 50s to lower 60s SE. Highs Sun are subject to change once the
extend of CAD becomes more clear. Nevertheless, partly to mostly
cloudy early Sun, becoming mostly cloudy from S to N by Sun
afternoon and evening. A weak sfc low moves up the coast Sun
evening/night, providing a chance for a few showers across much of
the area with the best chance along the Eastern Shore. However,
total QPF is expected to be very light with only a few hundredths of
an inch of rain expected. Lows Sun night in the lower 40s W and
lower 50s E.
A warm front lifts north Sun night with strong WAA expected Mon in
the form of gusty SW winds 15-20 MPH with gusts 25-35 MPH.
Given dry soils and the gusty winds, the potential for increased
fire weather conditions will exist. We will continue to monitor.
Highs Mon will be warm with lower to mid 70s. The main limiting
factor will be minimum RH values generally in the 40s, but upper 30s
will be possible in the western Piedmont.

A strong cold front moves through late Mon/Mon evening, but moisture
will be lacking. For now, don't expect more than a few isolated
sprinkles with most areas remaining dry. Cooler Tues with highs in
the mid to upper 40s N to the lower 50s S. Considerable uncertainty
remains regarding Wed with the GFS taking an inland track with a
developing low pressure whereas the Canadian and Euro take more of a
coastal track. Either way, rain appears likely and the uncertainty
is more reflective of high temps. For now, have highs in the mid to
upper 40s W and upper 50s to lower 60s E. There could be another
chance for showers late in the week, but uncertainty regarding when

half of the FA waters). Expecting NNE winds to increase to
15-20 kt over the lower Ches Bay/Ocean/Currituck Sound. Seas S
of Cape Henry VA will likely build to 4 to 5 ft and 3 to 4 ft
N...w/ waves building to 3-4 ft on the srn bay. Winds shift to
the E Sun (while waning) though 4-5 ft seas linger over the
southern ocean waters (longest off the NC outer banks).
Winds then shift back to the SW Mon ahead of yet another cold
front. Mixing will not be optimal given a warm airmass over cold
waters...but still think 15-20kt SSW winds are likely for most
of the FA waters. Waves 2-3 ft on the Ches Bay and 3-5 ft seas
off the coast. Significantly colder air is expected behind this
front for Mon night so expect winds to remain elevated from the
NNW. Lo pres moves into the region Tue night/Wed and could lead
to addition SCA conditions...esp on the ocean.
