THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Additional snow
  accumulations of up to 3 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch,
  heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches 
  possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Haines and Haines Highway.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 4 PM AKST this 
  afternoon. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Thursday evening 
  through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...For the Winter Storm Warning, around 5 to 6
  inches of snow has already been reported in Haines since 930 AM.
  Snow showers are expected to continue through the late afternoon
  with additional accumulations around 1 to 3 inches. Snowfall 
  will be heavy at times with rates up to one inch per hour. Snow 
  amounts may widely vary over short distances.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING
THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 
  inches possible with lighter accumulations in the town of 
  Skagway itself. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Upper Lynn Canal including, Dyea, and the South 
  Klondike Highway.

* WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is a possibility of sea level 
  locations changing over to rain late Thursday night into 
  Friday morning, which could hold snowfall accumulations lower. 
  The town of Skagway looks to only receive 2 to 4 inches. 
  However, this is uncertain. The greatest confidence in 
  significant snowfall accumulations is for Haines and along the 
  South Klondike Highway to White Pass. The probability of 
  heavier snowfall is greatest between 9 PM Thursday evening and 
  9 AM Friday morning.
