The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...

* Until midnight MDT.

* At 853 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across Carnuel and the Four Hills area of southeast 
  Albuquerque. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen with 
  additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Southeastern Albuquerque and Carnuel.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 25 near Mile Marker 219.
	Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 165 and 173.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer 
currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many 
miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT TONIGHT 
FOR BERNALILLO COUNTY...

At 1049 PM MDT, While heavy rainfall has mostly ended over the 
warned area, excessive runoff from previous strong thunderstorms 
will continue to move southwestward and downstream into the Hell's 
Canyon arroyo. Fast flows in other smaller arroyos and flood 
channels near and between Carnuel and the Four Hills area of 
southeastern Albuquerque are also expected to continue.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Southeastern Albuquerque, Carnuel and the Hell's Canyon area.
